I've been doing this lately. One of the biggest struggles I have as a writer is getting so excited for the ending I do it to early. It's been really helping to just write those scenes get it off my chest, then do it.

Oh, if you actually wrote in the Old Norse language I'm not sure I would've been able to recognise more than blood. But the language is still English, the script is Futhark - those are two different things.
These runes have seen a bit of a revival through increased historical interest into them, as well as their use in Modern Paganism movements, from the esoteric to the political. It's still a very rare script to be able to read in the general population, but on 4chan you have /int/, /his/, /pol/ and /x/ where at least some anons each should know them.
