I doubt they scrapped anyone as Niji's model is pump out and see what happens. If they fail then who cares the next lot is coming.

However they might have realise that scooping up whoever had the most subs and chucking them at the wall wasn't a good model. Doesn't create cohesion or target a demographic. Creating a gamer wave makes a lot more sense, you can focus the designs and personalities to try and hit an audience. I feel like their brand image in general needs a lot of work to pull this off.

I checked Kyo and was instantly filtered by his misfit voice. He has decent voice but it just doesn't fit the model. Before him I've only seen bad cases like that with deep voiced women having loli avatars and it just makes it hard to watch. I could be totally wrong but I think they're doing it because their main competitor, Cover, is literally sucking ass in EN department. Half of EN girls are barely streaming and stagnating, Tempus was a success but they happened when Niji already had 2 male waves and 1 mixed one on the way. They see EN market as something yet to be fully exploited so they're going all in. They're gonna shit out as many waves as possible with various concepts based on different audition requirements. Some waves or individuals will eventually fall off but even the shittiest of the shittiest pay off in 6 months, so why even bother stopping? Accelerate. I can't say I'm a fan of this mass vtuber "manufacturing" but it is what it is.
