Youtube and Twitch have both been significantly harsher towards vtubers than they are towards titty streamers, even though Hololive and Nijisanji dominate the superchat charts. Chaturbate even introduced a new rule explicitly to fuck with Melody because roasties were mad she was intruding on their income. Yes it didn't work against Melody, but they'll keep trying until it does since their livelihood as whores depends on it. A real bad one is the whole situation with Azulim. First the company wanted her to change her personality, which she refused, then they later transferred her to another company and didn't pay her any of her earnings for basically all of 2019. Then at the end of 2019 they locked her out of her twitter and youtube accounts. In mid 2020 she won a lawsuit to get her accounts back and the rights to the character and the court ordered her previous companies to pay her the salary owed.

She's an example of truly getting fucked by her company, but also an example that the courts will likely favor the person playing the character over whoever actually owns the copyright if any future situations like that occur.
