Plenty of women get anemic from periods, even if they don't have heavy flow. They don't consume much red meat, which is a large portion of the average person's iron intake, which can cause anemia more frequently. If you ever hear about women taking iron pills, often prescribed, this is why.

I don't have an MD, but it really could be anything, given the above explanation of the anemia. If I had to guess, she probably just has bad genetics, leading to a poor immune system and frequent illness. Probably not autoimmune, because that usually causes issues with pain and inflammation and wouldn't work well for streaming games.
