I would be heartbroken, i hear all fhis femanons lowering themselves to chase this.....i don't even know what to call it "career". It's ridiculous, it's embarrasing, to know that they have such little respect for themsleves, their parents, their family and even their community where they have to go chase dreams of this pseudo prostitution. Practicing and building live2d models and for what? So some otaku loser from who knows where throws 5 dollars at you. Is that how little you think of yourself femanon? Is this a not so subtle way to get back at your parents? I just don't understand how a women can look at herself and say "yes, this is what i want, i wanna be parasocial fap bait for some loser on the other side of the screen". All the work, all the hard hard work your parents put into trying to make you a respectable women, femanon, and this is how you repay them? I just don't understand. I can't, its heartbreaking to see a women throw her life and her potential away just to become some masturbation aid for socially stunted men. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong or bad with the design ,it's just that it needs something more to stand out, unless you're planning to be carried on content alone. Yeah of course; I already have a few modifications in mind to it specifically head-wise (my current model, which is from the same artist, has the same kind of accessories that I’m talking about but has bland clothes desu; I made a mistake of choosing to have the clothes as bland as they were then)

I’m thinking of making the lower half a little different, but also making the tie themed around my character theme rather than just a normal tie in this as it looks like (I also already have some hair accessories in my current model; this would just be a separate outfit or something)

I really have zero clue what anons are saying when they say you need to "stand out" because none of the consistently solid /wvt/s have designs that "stand out"
- mess blue hair with a shirt
- sleeveless collared shit with a simple tie (cat girl even)
- a woman
stop getting caught up in the design and realize your content is what makes or breaks you as a streamer. don't give me that bullshit about "but what if a random clicks on you because your design is good" no one gives a shit. people will share and shill you alike if they see you making good content regardless of design.

this desu, the real deal is content. Networking/Word-of-Mouth + Aesthetics + Audio + Content

You need all of this shit to do well as a vtuber.
Any /asp/ that believes one is more important than the other is NGMI.

To all the designfags in this thread. Most of the arguments about design are literally about taste. Who even determines good taste? Noone can be saved from their own bad or bland taste. I get your point, anon, but don't fall into the trap of thinking "all audio/aesthetic taste is subjective". There's a reason why streamers don't use a fake radio filter on their audio input, main characters of shows have 2-4 main complimentary colors that make them instantly recognizable, etc. There's decades of theory behind that shit. You can find out pretty quick if your taste sucks if you have some self-reflection skills and a couple honest friends, and if you're lacking in sense in any of the categories ranging from social skills, aesthetics, audio, etc, it's just a matter of needing more outside help (commissions, teachers, friends). I swear every time someone asks for advice on their voice or their design some autist comes out of the woodwork to yell about not focusing too much on design or voice when one of /asp/'s biggest draw is a brutally honest review of design/voice. Just because someone's asking about modeling or vocal training doesn't mean they're not also putting in work in the other categories.

There's a certain amount of design principles that companies often use and follow to create designs that appeal to the most amount of people possible. However, none of those rules are hard and fast at all, they can be broken effectively.

In short: It's a good idea to utilize some design principles like not overdoing it with accessories or whatever so that your design looks cluttered. However, it's not necessary to have a perfect corporate looking design if that's not feasible for you.

Thank you! Pitch is one of the things we need to figure out, actually. I sang in choir throughout school, and our director insisted I was going to be a bass when my voice sorted out, so he kept me in the baritone range. When I went to university, the new choir director said he was an idiot and my voice is obviously higher-pitched, and put me as a high tenor. I was only in university choir for a semester though, so I never really had the chance to get used to the change. So I guess I'm a bit pitch-confused at the moment, hence why I never really felt confident singing after university. Hopefully the lessons will help with that.

Just a quick sketch up I made for an vtuber idea I had. The theme is supposed to be a mech pilot, but rather than being the protector of earth, it's the alien invader.
Im debating changing the pilot suit to look more organic, similar to Pui Pui's armor from dbz.
Also I'm planning on having it be rigged from the angled view on the right, but I'm not sure whether I should have him sitting in a cockpit or just standing.
What do you guys think?

>> No.2768719

>>2768666
>rigged from the angled view on the right
don't, that's a dumb fuck idea. just keep it centered.

pikamee recently received an updated model where she's persistently facing to the left and it's ruined a lot of immersive aspects where her model can look at the game and look at the chat box. don't do it. it's not worth a gimmick and you're gonna be paying the same amount for a Live2D rigger to have a proper full range of motion anyway.

>> No.2768849

>>2768719
I get what you're saying, but that whole angled view schtick has been on my mind for the longest time, even before pikamee debuted with her new model I had a model completely ready to be rigged in the angled view.
Honestly I feel that Gyari had the right idea but shit execution, but maybe that's the case for angled views in general.
I thought the cockpit pose would look awesome angled, but I suppose I could also try to make it work in the centered view

Your voice isn't too masculine, but it also isn't light enough that it would fit the illusion of it coming out of your character, since it sounds too mature or weighty. Took a quick look at three of your streams, here's some feedback
>Voice is pretty good
Most loli/chibi voices come off as quite grating but you pull it off well
>Not a lot going on
There seems to be a lot of dead air when it comes to your streams. You give off the impression that you don't really have anything to talk about or that you are too nervous. You should look into learning how to talk about random stuff just to fill dead air.
>Reliance on your viewers
Both good and bad. The times you seem to become active and interesting are when you have somebody to bounce off of in the chat or in a collab, but this is also a negative, as when you have nobody to bounce off of you start to clam up and that dead air crops up. Viewer interaction is good but they shouldn't be running the show. Your friends also dominate the stream a bit too much when you collab with them, at least when their crappy microphones aren't scuffing everything up.
>Designs and theming
Your avatar is cute enough, I probably wouldn't remember it after a year or so but it isn't an eyesore. Your magical girl theming, layouts and music leave more of an impression desu, which is good. Very well done. Work on getting some of the scuff fixed though, like the audio glitches and loading screen freezes.

Overall you are doing better than most. 4.5K subscribers is nothing to scoff at. In comparision, Koopa has 3K, and everyone only seems to have good things to say about her, so obviously you're doing good enough right now. Work on your confidence, fix the scuff, and do some touch ups on your model, and you could go places.

The entirely of your character and voice is very androgynous so I honestly cannot tell if you’re a girl or a boy. You also lack any strong themeing which isn’t great for branding. Your content itself is good. Maybe consider have your chat fade off stream over time because your chat is not very active. It's Mori in these parts. Just use your actual voice nigga. It'll help you in the long run. Suisei sounds so much better with a lower pitch anyway.

Good idea; thank you for the advice Anon
I’m just worried that I might have to pay for a full new Live2D model; I know my model is already rigged with regards to the important parts but still

If I don't really sound like a loli then maybe it's just me. Thanks for the feedback, now I know I can go with my idea for png design.

Kek, you think you sound like a loli? Don't flatter yourself. You sound like an average 30-year old ESL woman.

I'm planning on learning how to rig with Live2D during the weekend. Would a local pngtuber be interested in me practicing with their design? No guarantees on the quality or how much time it's gonna take, but you would receive whatever comes out.

don't.
just use a pre-made live2d ready model. or your going to waste a ton of time filling in voids from cutting the png into separate layers.

If I post my vocaroo here, will you guys tell me what kind of character would be suitable? also, what sample template do I read

just read the ingredients to the taco bell crunchwrap supreme as if a viewer in your chat asked you to read it. don't do a rhyme, don't do a tongue twister, don't do a voice (unless you're actually doing a voice as vtuber)

Should I even consider going in at this point?

not sure if you're still here but I saw you mentioned follow for follow on twitter and was wondering how your following/follower ratio is? I've seen some chuubas that get big and barely follow anyone; if someone doesn't follow you back do you just unfollow them? I've seen people that I know follow a bunch of people back and then mass unfollow when they got to a size they thought was big enough

>> No.2791269

>>2791160
all the viewers are becoming chuubas... someone's gotta add to the viewer pool
on a more serious note, if you haven't even started and you feel like you have no time, imagine what it will lbeike when you start. Can you plan a schedule around your work in a way you can keep it consistent? Being able to actually stream is kiiiiind of important
Just make another throwaway account if you're worried about practice streams

I’m about 1:2 mostly because I stopped follow for following after I hit 1k on Twitter because I felt like that was a good enough size to be “respectable”. I personally didn’t unfollow anyone I followed (who didn’t follow me back) until 3 monthsish later because I decided if I wasn’t interacting with them and they didn’t want to follow back then it’s probably not worth it to anyone for me to remain followed.

I dunno it's the impression I get from listening to myself. I'v always thought I had a sort of squeaky voice, but seems to be true you can't judge your own voice unless you record it. Seems mine has changed as time went on and never really noticed.

Spent a good three hours practicing this, but this is as deep and as menacing as I can get for the moment, will continue to experiment with it.
Am I on the right track in regards to a villainous gap moe fulfilling voice?
