I argue false equivalency. If she had been part of the first gen she would have had a lot more exposure and a significantly better model that wouldn't filter people into not watching her content. Still, you might be right since Mori is capable of writing her own stuff so it is at least mostly English. Hard to say if IRyS would be able to put out English songs that early into the EN branch.

We don't have acces to the alternative reality where IRyS is in myth, but the shear numbers of Calli make it seem unlikely that anyone could ttop her. RIP is the 3rd most viewed Vtuber song afaik, and the most viewed original song. And all that from a sidebranch. It's hard to see IRyS outpreforming that.

There's nothing stopping IRyS from writing songs in English right now in THIS timeline, besides the fact that she's just, y'know, not a song writer. A better model wouldn't make IRyS's songs any less generic, or motivate Cover to writer better songs for her. Being part of Myth wouldn't have magically given her Mori's music production friends, either. I hate to say this since I loathe almost all of Mori's music and her sense of humor, but the reaper was clearly the better choice for Cover.

And I honestly can't place a niche for the rest of them.

Kronii has the deep voice, but Fauna is the ara-ara mommyfag bait. Mumei might have been the singing choice? Bae certainly has an appeal but I don't think mating press is what they were going for when they signed her. I don't think they have picked anyone for gaming skill. Kronii has the voice and probably pitched the music mixing hobby as useful to them but hasn't done much with, Mumei was a jack of all trades pick with some faux-Gura charisma, Fauna had ASMR which was underrepresented in EN and Sana was brought in so they didn't have to outsource all of Council's promo art. It actually does paint a picture of trying to recreate Myth but not quite getting it for a variety of reasons.
