Even being a long time Holo, Kson doesn't understand the concept of “vtubing”. The common fatal weakness for twitch whores. Coco was successful thanks to Holos around her who understood the vtubing concept.

Kson said she uses avatar coz make up is troublesome. She thinks using avatar is same as “wearing a make up or fancy apparel”.
Avatar itself is part of the character. When you watch certain MMD videos without voice acting, you still feel the chuuba’s presence.
Also, Kson doesn’t understand showing her face and flesh constantly KILLS the avatar character.
Imagine someone voice acts for a lion in Disney movies, but keep showing his face for every 5 seconds. It destroys the lion character.

I believe it was Kizuna Ai that coined the term vtuber and it stuck. She mainly did family friendly content for the sponsorships not because she utilized Japanese idol culture. At the time, there were many streamers on twitch and youtube that were slowly transiting to using a 2D or 3D anime model to stream due to 2DLive and VRChat technology becoming more advanced and accessible. Many of the streamers using anime models didn't call themselves vtubers or utilized Japanese idol culture. It was Hololive that utilized anime models, Japanese idol culture, and called themselves vtubers. They popularized it and many people who 'debuted' or 're-debuted' afterwards would utilized Japanese idol culture.

You are not watching that old lady voicing Goku during the animation though. It will ruin the Goku character like the lion scenario if you do. Especially if old lady is big on the screen, and goku is tiny. But why? Think about it.

Why do we watch movies knowing it is fake? Yet we believe the story?
But we can't believe the story if the screen shows the filming set and cameras. Why? Because your brain is breaking the illusion.
For the same reason, vtuber has to hide/keep their real-life elements that conflict with character building.

Also, you don't understand the difference between in-story characters and vtubers.
If an anime character died, does it mean the voice actor died? No.
If the voice actress of goku cucks you, Goku doesn't cuck you. If Rushia cucks you, yes you are cucked.
