I honestly feel that this is fine.
Coco's content was the absolute PEAK of VTubing when it first came out, and the Asacoco series is the stuff of legends.
But the latter half of her stuff was quite obviously not as inspired (could have been due to management fuckery, I admit).
So the fact that she had that final month of insane collabs, celebrations, new outfit and all sorts of fun leading up to the amazing event that was her graduation... It was honestly a cathartic ending, in a way.

Hololive has come far afterwards, but her slight touch of American mentality (not overworking yourself, taking breaks in the short term for long term health etc.) has seeped into the way the talents handle themselves on stream, as well as the hololive audience as a whole.
Which is well balanced by the Japanese side of it (not bringing /pol/shit or talking about private offstream stuff on stream).
Both parts make a great source of simple entertainment that you can enjoy with very little drama involved.

But Obsydia and Ethyria were waaay too close together, and people cannot acclimitize themselves with so many new people that easily.
This is still the reason many fans of one EN liver sometimes hate other NijiENs. Some hate Nina, some hate Petra, some hate Finana etc. etc.
I'm not even going to touch on how bringing males out 8 fucking months after the first wave was a mistake, or how the branch has plummetted afterwards.

It's not easy, and anyone looking to try and shortcut the process will find themselves on unstable ground and easily falter.

i think part of why the hololive box is so strong is that the 2020 yabs during their huge incline were so jarring

with aloe being harassed by nijis into an early graduation and then it looking like the very same thing could happen to coco just months later, both the fans and the talents naturally circled the wagons and held on for dear life.

Then, you have a huge influx of new fans coming in from Myth's explosive success. This lets Cover make the bold move to abandon China and save Hololive and also shows all these new fans that Cover and Hololive band together even at great cost. That, I think, cemented the culture and propagates forward even now.
