Hey /a/ fag here. I gave vtubers a go for like 3 weeks or so, I checked out some holo and niji JP, and some holo EN girls. These girls are all awful. Its literally like, "Oh, why would I consume quality content that is related to my weeby interests, when I can watch some girl with an avatar do everything at a mediocre level at best?"
They are horrible singers, horrible gamers, and their in game commentary is not particularly funny or interesting either. And not only that, but most of them play the same fucking games over and over again with some FOTM game in between. Whats the fucking appeal of this?

in a vacuum it's about becoming invested in the personal journey of a mediocre talent, who is ostensibly trying their best. i think this is the ideal many are seeking when they watch vtubers, and many sample around until they find something that hooks them. i wouldn't know for sure though, as i'm only here for drama and to read the barely literate ravings of our south east asian friends.
