Hello! I stream proseka pretty frequently from my iPad. Apple makes a lightning to hdmi adapter for iPhone/Pad, just connect it to a capture card. Latency is very minimal and it doesn't stop me from full combos.
Androids should have a similar usb-c to hdmi adapter but I don't know how bad latency is for those.

At 20+ viewers you're making at least 100 a month. I was making 200 at the time, more on a good month when I was that size and I'm male. At lower numbers it's really not worth it but it honestly isn't as big of a deterrent as people make it out to be. I am aware that appearance is generally tilted towards certain averages when it comes to the two main sexes (there are a lot of people who fall outside those averages, of course, and there are plenty of women with PCOS and other hormonal issues that appear or sound more masculine than the average). A majority of internet users in general, which does include tons of viewers viewers, aren't using adblock which is evident by the literal millions of dollars in ad revenue Twitch is making on top of the fact a standard adblock doesn't work. It's not about me, it's about potential viewers since many aren't using adblock and don't want to watch a 30 second ad to watch a streamer for less time than they spent the ad before deciding if they like them. I don't think it's true about non-affiliates getting ads either since I just went to find some 1-views to check and the only ones that gave me ads were affiliates. Affiliate isn't really worth it in all honesty unless you've reached that 15-20 viewer range and actually have a viewerbase already and you likely won't receive a payout til you reach that point anyway, plus there's more people to celebrate once you do get it.

I'm pretty sociable so I met a lot of people through Twitter to grow there and commented a lot. The twitter guide in the OP is pretty decent but the problem i notice with a lot of people here is they lack that social ability to just comment on things they find interesting or they're too "typical jaded 4channer" to care about anything and see everything as an annoyance or whatever. I've been there before, grew out of it but I understand it. From there it was mostly just, hashtag "wiggle" bullshit or posing my character with props, pretty generic stuff. That gets around a bit and from there it was just meeting people, discords, social circles, etc. It helped me get raids and when I was smaller, one of my viewers apparently mods for a chuuba that raided me several times with like 30 people by what I assume was her suggestion so that helped a lot when I was smaller.

Overall, most of my growth was through networking though, I have shit experience editing still and very few Youtube videos, I'd be genuinely surprised if anyone came from there and no one's mentioned it before, my YT is basically dead in the water and it's probably why I'm stuck where I am. After you're over that 20-30 viewer "hurdle" though, you start to grow bit by by just by virtue of existing because it's typically enough to put you at the top of most game lists but also show you're "worth" watching because you've got a good amount of viewers but no TOO many so you can still interact with people who prefer a smaller community. You absolutely still need to do whatever reps you've down to help you grow to that point though and find ways to keep viewers sticking around or coming back, but a majority of that just comes down to your overall personality and ability to keep people entertained.

Yeah I honestly had a good amount of this near the start. A problem that I (and a lot of lower middle-sized chuubas or whatever youd call me) have with explaining how I personally grew stems from the fact most chuubas really can't explain exactly how, just a few things they think helped. A lot were genuinely just "doing their thing" and grew from it. They were doing shit they genuinely enjoyed doing and were growing from that so they kept doing it and kept talking to other people who were doing the same thing. I genuinely like posting funny comments on people's stuff, or slapping together a quick meme from a silly idea I had, and just talking to people in general which is what I know helped me as far as networking goes and that's where most of my growth was.

Here and there you've got the super calculated, planned out people who followed their own rubric to success (Randon is a great example of that, I assume he's getting ready for Nijisanji now due it), but for the most part everyone I've spoken to seems to have gotten to where they are "organically", as in doing what they enjoy and what they see that other people enjoy.

also, just go live. talk for a bit. doesn't have to be long, go for something like half an hour, you can work your way up to longer streams.
i was exactly like you, still am, just do it, you'll get into it pretty much immediately once you start talking. write some topics on a sticky note and use it as a bouncing point to keep talking, chatters are pretty much always chill so don't worry about somebody being an asshole, they probably won't be, and if they are then that's what bans are for.

I've always known this in all honesty. I'm a somewhat older Twitch viewer (compared to a lot of people here and a lot of chuubas at least) and as much as I love vtubing have yet to find a single chuuba, even out of the biggest ones, that are anywhere near some of the normal streamers I watch. They lack the wit, the banter, the energy, everything. I understand a lot of them are new, hell even some of those in the thousands are still relatively new to streaming but the humor and overall entertainment value of most chuubas is just stale. Not saying there's no good chuuba or that I don't like Vtubers, I still watch a lot and have for some time now, but there's really no comparison to a lot of similarly sized normal Streamers.
