This type of surgery is extremely low risk and there’s no reason for a young healthy cat to die from it. Recovery can be painful without the correct pain medication and if nothing was administered it’s highly probable the cat did pass from being in so much agony, and if this is true I do hope Shadow tears them to the ground.
