It turned out that it was not the router. She some how used telephone cable instead of CAT rated ethernet wire. Plus the microwave was located right next to the router so when ever someone went to use it her connection would lag.

i understand that. i use a 250gb ssd in my main machine with 8tb of hdd storage. but hard drives arent that bad. i use a 320gb hard drive in an old laptop that i use time to time and since i don't gayme on it it takes 30 seconds to boot into arch loonix and then 10 seconds to open firefox which isn't bad considering that i'm only going to be using firefox

I'm not denying that. I've got a 2tb HDD where I keep all my movies, reaction images, VNs, and pre-2007 games. But as someone who spent years on an HDD laptop only to feel true SPEED after upgrading last year, I couldn't go without one anymore. Even if it's JUST for the boot drive, there's very little reason not to get even a small one.

Even if they had extra monitors, I imagine the cramped spaces in a lot of Japanese homes might make it harder to set up multiple monitors. I wouldn't doubt a few of them have 2+ monitors tough, even then often times windowed is better for streaming.
