All that being said, for the flip side, comparisons to CCV/subs aren't really fair when Myth debuted at the perfect time to build on both the discovery-phase of interest of vtubers in the West and yes the pandemic making a giant captive audience as well. If you look at average CCV today, the Councils are doing fine, better than Ame/Kiara/Mori quite often actually so they're kind of blended equally with Myth in terms of current attention actually being given - that, is NOT a failure actually even compared to Myth. However because conventional wisdom was assuming "any new EN is gonna get a free million subs just for existing" was proven false, they never ever met peoples' expectations. Factor in that unlike Myth Council also truly looked like a troubled gen from all the breaks/emo shit from them only like 3 months in compared to Myth who went about a year+ solid like a drum without menhera episodes and this compounded with the notable dip in subs/ccv etc (susan did play a part but does not explain all of it) and the notion that they're a failure did look stronger 6-7 months ago. Nowadays however they're kind of averaged out - Council streams pretty alright lately (besides Sana who truly is a dead weight for the branch). So catalog readers, indie hipsters, niji traitors who were bored for a second with Myth and think they have to commit to the nijien now for forever no matter how shitty it mutates towards, are not up to speed with current-Council and only remember or saw the cumulative notions going around months ago.

I know the popular is that she didn't want to get popular on her art alone but it honestly would've helped her stream more if she didn't have the energy to do games or something. She's as talented as Ina too so she could bust out drawings of Council members or any other Holo and that'd be an easy stream for her to do. Idk if she's doing the horoscope streams anymore and that was another unique thing about her that she just didn't want to do anymore/have the energy for.

Sure, maybe they'll get it over time eventually (tho admittedly for the later talents the subgrowth is slower after the initial honeymoon period, so it will take some more time), but after the inital "free" pre-debut subs, the latter part is where they have to work for it more by themselves, and that's where some may fall shorter than others (also admitting for externalities like the covid vtuber boom being over and audiences having more alternative choices nowadays)

The deal with Sana, is that she's how everybody, including Ina herself, expected Ina to go.

People don't remember, but at the start of Myth, Ina had a very low stream schedule, since Hololive was this thing that she did while she was waiting for her artist career to pick up and get picked as the main artist for a gacha character and then go from there, so "priestess duties" took a lot of her time. That, uh, didn't happen. Meanwhile "Ninomae Ina'nis" became one of the hottest things on Youtube, and her artist career stalled, so of course Ina leaned more and more on Hololive, specially since she, like the rest, HAD TO learn how to get along since there's only 5 people in the world that know what was like to be on the center of the storm that was Myth: Year One.

Meanwhile, Sana's artist career DID took off, and Sana was picked as a mainline character gacha artist. So, she doesn't need Hololive as much, and can treat it as this side thing. Is a shame, but it is what it is.
