This was more nuanced than I thought so I'll reply accordingly. I feel Robesan's approach to it is already the best answer. He doesn't actively use the joke in his streams, but when engaged he plays along by denying or using it to his advantage.
In retrospect, the joke itself was unreasonable as it was not between two individuals in Haneru and Robesan, but Animare as a group and Robesan. Imagine the completely unrelated Animare members and fans suddenly roped into this one. On the flip side though, the absurdity of joke worked as both a testament of their integrity (as you know the thing DEFINITELY didn't happen) and a reel for people to check them out. It was forceful and tad tasteless, but that joke was one of the reason leading to Robesan's relations with Haneru and friends (and now definitely acts as a curse so Robesan is always an Animare associate).
At any case, it's just the way it is with entertainers. People knew them from something and that stuck, so the entertainers in question milk it for better or worse. The thing is Robesan has a philosophy to always broaden his reach, so the one-hit wonder worry is a bit misplaced. As someone who watches his streams daily the joke doesn't come up except in things related to Haneru. It's not dissimilar to EOPs typing winning son wherever they come into chat, or that Roberoberobe Roberu dayo wherever he's talking about his opening act, or Yukoku Armor-san from Vsaikyo, or that Knuckle Cluster pee from his APEX with Ollie, or Mea's stream partner (boyfriend), and so on and so forth. He has so much more, it's just the particular Animare joke is a bit more prevalent amongst his current collab partners.

I think part of it is Uyu played it before and the way to make JRPG streams entertaining is to do a lot of commentary. Like if you watch Pekora's FF10 stream she's reacting like she's the main character which makes it entertaining to watch.

They can do well, especially for popular RPGs. Elira pulled pretty good numbers for Xenoblade 2. Roberu's Xenoblade 2 stream a while ago was pretty good, but sadly I am not sure if he'll play Xenoblade 3 since he hasn't streamed a long game in a while.

Hi, I know that it's gonna be impossible to have a collaboration between Hololive and Holostars talents today due to some toxicity with some fans, and I know that there are past collabs between two camps (most notably Holostars and Hololive ID), but what steps are we gonna take to have possible collabs between Hololive and Holostars talent moving forward?

Honestly, it's still weird that despite some collabs happened in the past (Fubuki x Oga, Rikka x Mori), it's very rare to have cooperation between male and female talents within Hololive Productions.

This is the only answer to the OP's question. It's not about company rules, idol rules, or whatever people want to think it is.

They will do it if they want to, and have the time to. You can't just put two people (or more) together and have it work. It's not just in this industry, but any professional industry. All the talents want their streams and content to be top quality, worthy of the companies name.

Mori mentioned very early in her streaming career that she would love to collab with more people, in Hololive, outside of Hololive, in different industries, but it can't "just happen". She wants to know the other person, know what topics to chat about, games, life, etc. so that the stream isn't an awkward situation. This takes time.

And we all know what kind of 'free time' the talents have outside of streaming, with music production, training, marketing planning, and all the un-announced projects, so this is pretty much why collabs aren't as common and rare. And when they do happen, its the same people. It takes time to plan and know the other talents. It's simply not that easy.

A couple of the boys have said that they won't initiate collabs with the girls, they'll only collab if the girls ask them first. And even with those who have collabed together before (few of the JP members, HoloID 1/2, a few of the EN members) it's not like they are going to collab all the time either, only if there's an interest to do so at the time for whatever purpose.

Obviously, it depends on the fanbase of the vtuber and the kind of content they make. Like, Fubuki has been very clear about shutting down GFE ("No wife, friend!") and has interacted with Holostars in the past with little issue, but when the Queen of GFE, Rushia, even so much as got a *message* from a guy on stream... well, we all know how that turned out. Eh, some of them just overreacted initially and most of them eventually calmed down a few hours after the schedule was posted. In my experience the best thing to do when emotions run high is to just wait it out since the rational ones do eventually come to their senses. What's funny is that some of these omaesans have been fans of Majin for far longer than I've been (only discovered and fell in love with Majin back in May last year) and even I knew early on that the Stars try to avoid schedule overlaps.
