Not even Irys which is different to a normal Hololive vtuber is treated as differently as uproar, I honestly doesn't sit well for me because it just makes supporting everyone and enjoying them, as a group harder since cover keeps making imaginary lines in the sand.
Now it's not just watchastar with the boys, but there's ANOTHER separate show. Honestly they should have just axed the show all together and just done variety videos like they do with the girls so they can do whatever they want with whoever, sure today it's just an extra show, but tomorrow you're paying for TWO concerts, TWO anniversaries celebrations, no merch with everyone together. Hololive doesn't even have a special anniversary celebration as a whole branch and even then EN and ID celebrations are separate so I don't see the problem.
It's hard to include Uproar in the current events of Holostars as of now since they simply have no 3D models and have barely any working experience as of now. This show is their first gig after the ichi oshi talk and it's a good opportunity for them to learn hosting their own show since they will need that experience when they want to organize events in the future.

The preparations for the 3rd anniversary event have been going since new years. It would be something else if Holostars already knew Uproar before their debut but they didn't. I agree with you 100%. This is the worst part of current Stars and it pisses me off. People complained about Cover not giving them a tournament some threads ago, but they barely do this stuff while Hololive organizes their own shit without Cover's help almost monthly.

That will always be a problem, and if your audience isn't used to your big game variety they'll just tune out whenever you play some obscure game that they don't care. Not everyone can be like Oga or Korone.

So overall I actually agree with you on most points, and yeah Uproar didn't really solved most of the problem the current Stars had. But as I said Cover can't do much if these kinds of candidates don't send their auditions, and I'm sure most of the guys who have big plans for streaming won't try out the unpopular subbranch of Hololive.
