I think something that can encapsulate the hoodie dilemma better is that people with lower art ability/eye for creativity are going to gravitate to having easier outfits which results in lots of crappy hoodies and t-shirt designs.
Of course this can be trumped with art skill or art style (also needing decent art skill). There's a reason why all 'Outfit Design Contests' are actually just 'Best Artists Contests'. The design matters, yes, but more importantly is the ability of the artist to render that idea in the best presentable manner.

It's how I've gotten a lot of my recent followers through raids from my vtuber sibs, I even got a clipper out of it which has been helpful. I think it helps that we all target different niches so we're able to build our own individual communities well without needing to rely on each other. The raiders then stick around and follow us because we all get along really well and do collabs together every now and then.

tbf I do have a very big vtuber family though. I also have my own vtuber kids, so any number of them could raid me (think like 30+ people). I tend to overwork myself helping them all out as well, so how I achieve growth is definitely not possible for a lot of people.

But yeah, a good short-cut to growth is find a nice community which you can contribute to in a meaningful way. Even if your contribution is just by being supportive and giving your time, that means a lot to people. Be sociable, don't hog attention or call it to yourself (especially when someone is trying to celebrate something), don't look desperate, and if you need to ask for advice show how grateful you are that someone took the time out to help you.

It's been a lot of people telling me they had me wrong because of the /asp/ infamy. Lots of gentle menhera, like crabs are menhera but they take it out on others to feel better. "Gentle menhera" dont. The 600k subscriber pony guy is a humongous addition of experience and knowledge at our fingertips, and MissFushi is here too. I was in the call for like 10 hours I was so excited from breaking my 2 month menhera stream hiatus and improvements in health.

Honestly I'm feeling quite good. I recommend it because why not both? Critikal reacted to a few channels from a commentary channel called GunnarTV, and before he started reacting to his content, he had like 2k subs and a month later he has near 90k subs. There is definitely examples of that working out for people.

This is the only time raids can consistently and reliably help, when the creators are fostering a community together, but I suppose that's more of a networking thing not just "raids help". Not fujoanon, but yumejo here instead. I think voice and design are inarguably the most important things for a male VTuber, even more so than female VTubers. For /asp/ies, none of the ones I know of catch my eye. Though that might just be because my taste in men is more atypical. There are some cases which I can overlook design if I really like a guy's voice though.
Thing is, all the male VTubers I watch don't really pander to fujos/yumejos. All of them are 'brotuber' types. I hate to be 'that guy' because this advice is said to hell and back, but do whatever content you want. Its gonna be easier to market yourself if you go the pandering route but its not the only way to attract that audience. I like seeing cute guys do cute things.

He's my type personality wise, and I like his voice but I wish his design had short messy hair instead, which is just a personal preference. He hasn't been streaming again which I'll let it slide because he said it's due to corona, but if I bought subscription for nothing, I'll be mad.

I dogpiled on Jay that one time as well, but to be fair, it did look pretty bad uncolored. I'm a fan of his new model, I think it's a unique one since it's sitting down, but his jokes get really unfunny sometimes. However, I do enjoy his art content a bit, and so I'll continue to follow along for that. He also needs to stream more.

Alto has a very cute concept, mahjong cowboy? Where have you seen that before? But I'm afraid he needs to do his English speaking reps before I can dedicate my time to really following along with his streams. A better mic or better mic filters would help too.

I like where Kaiser's rebrand is going, and so I'll keep an eye out on that. I think Kaiser's voice is nice and his accent is a buff too, so I'll likely follow along more when he frees himself from the grips of babi.

There's not many males here that I can think of that aren't babis, but I'll throw in a few comments for Azu if he's interested.

Azu, you've got a cute voice. Probably one of the better ones in this thread, and you might have some real appeal for females if that's what you're looking for if you choose to get a male model. If not, keep being yourself bodysuit anon. Luck is on your side.

Sorry for using dog for so many examples, but he's the only one I actively watched from here because obviously, I'm appealed.
