It's not about copying/who did it first, it's about WHO DID IT RIGHT. Selen/Pomu had it on a fucking gold platter and fucking spilled the spaghetti. Just watching some rando/defaults go at it is no fun, it has to be self insert. IT ALWAYS HAS TO BE SELF INSERT OR ELSE THERE'S NO POINT. Ponpoko/Peanut and Miko did it right, created characters and designed them to be relatively close to the talents, but Miko did it more right by spending near autist time designing the character and then letting AI go at it.

The NijiWWE stream was all livers from NijiEN, not randos/defaults.
They also used designs created by the community (including one from /hfz/), which makes it more kino (watching the toothpick Reimu get turned into an absolute UNIT and smack around Vox was hilarious)
They also brought on some of the livers for pre/post match interviews, and had them talk smack at each other, which makes it that much better.
