It is my firmest belief that if you read everything on the chart, you will be in the appropriate mental space to enjoy vtubers to their fullest potential. tribalfaggotry? roommate rrats? disillusionment with the medium? Just finish the list and all these worries will go away

I looked up one of these at random, Simulacra and Simulation, on Wikipedia. I understood the individual words, but that's about it. I guess I need an example or something. Or I'm just not smart enough for this shit. For the record I also failed at reading Ulysses. But I understood Stand on Zanzibar once I got into the flow of it.

So, what is the meaning of this list? Will the works listed help me understand why I like vtubers, or certain vtubers? Will they help me to become a vtuber, or a better vtuber? Why are any of these books being recommended?

Here's the thing anonchama, learning how to think about things and live with that knowledge is one of the best ways to improve your life. It's the age old question dead white european men have been asking themselves since time immemorial. Asking yourself questions like
>what do our emotions and feelings mean
>where do they come from
>what can they tell us
and seriously thinking about them are a good way to find out the things about yourself you wouldn't even think about on a regular daily basis. These help you become a better vtuber fan, and a better vtuber as you know more about yourself, and thus know better how to interact with others

Fanged Noumena is actually pretty terrible. It's almost entirely shilled by people who have never read it, just the Meltdown essay. Both that and the equally terrible K-Punk book made me realize that Urbanomic is a shitty publisher that was more interested in cashing in on the acc craze than in doing anything interesting.
If you actually care about this stuff you're much better going back to original CCRU material, (which, as a collaborative project, included more than just Nick's perspective on shit), and if you're interested in where it went after the Warwick era all the action was on blogs. Hyperstition, xenosystems, and the main 2017 U/Acc-era stuff being the most relevant. If you absolutely must have a book, the #Accelerate book is unironically better than pages of literal keyboard smashing.

>he and all postmodernists like derrida are useless today since none of you can objectify the current state of the western society as the postmodern society
Literally everyone does, that's precisely the point, everyone of them criticizes the current state of the world as the postmodern world
> woke is the postmodern fucked up state with absolute relativism, but you cant accept it for the ideological and religious moral superiority reasons
No, postmodernism isn't absolute relativism that shit's been around for way longer than postmodernism and most postmodern writers aren't actually relativists, actually most of the writers people tend to label as postmodern or the ones that self identify as postmodern critique the postmodern state of affairs like Jameson, but people doesn't read them exactly like people just say that the Frankfurt school tried to destroy western culture when actually they were all (except maybe Marcuse who was the only actual marxist of the group) actually trying to show how a consumerist society and late capitalism would destroy western values and reduce aesthetic value to consumer value.
It's true that "wokeism" is a postmodern problem, mostly about profilicity and brands in a heavily interconnected capitalist society, but it's precisely that why you should read people like Jameson, Fisher (his Capitialist Realism, not his other shit) or even Baudrillard to understand what the fuck is happening at least.
This game has some nice videos comparing wokeism to civil religion and talking about prfilicity and art in a postmodern society and how it's fucked up

Bataille for the insane economy of superchats, memberships, merch and so on. Eliade's "Sacred and Profane" is obviously on there because of idol culture, seiso obsession, etc., but arguably Durkheim would be a better fit there. I assume Hegel is included out of an understandable desire to shove Hegel into everything, but the Phenomenology doesn't really fit at all, if I had to pick some Hegel to include it would obviously be the Philosophy of Right.

It depends on what you want to get from reading. A lot of people say "start with the greeks" and while that's correct if you're just interested in certain topics or want answers to something that's bothering you you'll probably be fine just reading about that and not bothering with the whole history of western thought, that's for people that seriously want to dedicate themselves to study philosphy an professional philosophers. Most often than not you'll be fine reading some general introduction to a topic, say, metaphysics or ethics, going to the SEP or IEP and checking the bibliography. SEP's pretty good because it's edited by actual professional philosophers and have articles ranging from really broad to really specific (see for example: https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/qt-idind/).). If you want a REALLY easy introduction to some common problems in contemporary philosphy, things like Russells's The Problems of Philosophy, Nagel's What Does it All Mean and stuff like.

Reading a book is like debating someone, but they talk for 10-20~ hours straight, and you are never allowed to respond.

God damn, do you really feel that way about books? You can win the "argument" by closing the book and never reading it again, at least.
