vtuber twitter is basically going to be split into three different groupings (plus some sub-groups that blend or whatever)
1 - Vtubers + creators
Your bread and butter as a small streamer. Other small streamers, maybe not doing f4f, but they'll be people invested in streaming, even if they're not invested in you. Maybe you might get follows from some of the team accounts, or retweet bots, or whatever, but this is mostly composed of people who might come to your streams, but mostly in the hope you also come to yours. Clippers, artists, VFX, etc also fall into this camp
2 - viewers
You will have none of these to start. But these are primarily people who don't actually create raw content, although they might make SOVLful fanart, it's not likely to be good (if it were, they'd likely have an artist account). Ironically, whilst these are great to have in your twitch account, as they're not going to be fucking about with side comments along the lines of "I just need to go prep for my stream, bye for now!" (which I see A LOT from mods in chats); they're not who you really want on your twitter - they get you likes, but won't tend to extend your reach
3 - Unrelated
Do you follow NASA? Sportsmen? Reuters news?
There's always a chance they boost you by accident/RT/like, it's unlikely they'll follow you though. For the most part, don't worry too much about them, but don't be afraid of 'clout chasing'. Because they're so far outside the normal chuubasphere, it's not like they'll actually help (think Nelson tagging Dennys begging for a sponsorship).

Viewers do create content. The social media internet of today and even the website we're using now were all based around a concept called user generated content. Comments are definitely raw content and it is the content that drives the engines of the internet. If you don't or can't appreciate and use that free content correctly then you better be either really controversial, oozing charisma everywhere, or extremely talented at something. For everybody else you're shooting yourself in the foot for ignoring it. This will become the case more and more as streaming and video content become more saturated.

Hello /asp/, i'm gonna be lurking here today aswell i hope you are having a great day, at least weather is pretty good over here in the Kaiserreich. My friend responded and he said he was up to do the 3D model of my new character so im pretty hyped (he was just busy and didn't see my discord message before).

He said it was a little "complex, but doable", which gives me confidence. Even back then and on a small budget he managed to make the admiral from scratch and i still think it still holds up as a really cool model (the fingers could do with a little more love but it's fineeee).

I also took found out a cool pose in VRM poser yesterday, and i thought i just show it off... for no reason whatsoever. Someone want to collab with me as a chair?

Online I usually get mixed reactions. People have praised me or hated me, said I'm a genuinely good person, said I'm the only genuinely evil person they know. I don't pretend to know what is going through people's mind but it has gradually made me more distant. In turn being more distant has made the problem worse. Other than just being me I know that I would be more liked and praised for being genuine if I put on a completely fabricated act. I don't really feel like I have the energy to keep up an act like that which is the biggest thing holding me back. If I do vtube as more genuine I feel like I would just get bullied again and leave.

I feel like maybe I got sabotaged by an abusive upbringing where everything I said could be held against me or used to escalate into violence directed at me. I learned to keep things to myself, be diplomatic, and always stay calm. Maybe it makes people see me as either a doormat or suspicious.

You can reply to this and try to get me mad if you like but I wont get mad I promise. I was just wondering if anyone had some ideas besides just don't or pretend. I feel like some anons might deal with similar issues for some reason.

Even comments are content. The same way some streamers respond to comments and then say thank you for the content. They are absolutely correct in saying thank you for the content. It is content and the viewer supplied it for free. Even on 4chan this has always been the case, look just below.

If you say then stop wasting time making content for 4chan for free and work on making content for yourself you are absolutely correct. Now a comment wont take as much effort to publish as other types of content but if you make a lot of comments it might be worth a full time job. I'm not arguing that you should get paid for your comments but I am arguing that comments viewers make are often free labor that you should use to your benefit. When you don't appreciate the content your viewers are generating then you are likely to slowly alienate them and have to hope that the revolving door brings in more new free labor than exits. This might sound fluffy and weird at first but it really isn't. All major platforms understand it and so should streamers and vtubers.

If i were to become a VTuber, i would find a niche where msot of my content would be to speedrun niche speedrun categories

My current goal is to at the very least put Turok on the spotlight, however tiny that spotlight might be.

If you post on twitter and get no comments, the "consumer" will look at the post, they might enjoy it but they will move on quickly. However if there are one or more comments they might actually stop and click the tweet to investigate further. This goes for both something they like and dislike.

So if there are people creating more content for them to consume because of your tweet, they might read it. Or (jackpot) they comment or set off further chains. And because of that you make your space in their head a little bit larger.

How much do you have coming in through donations now? I have to say though, 3k in donos is not likely as a PNG streamer, unless you're absolutely top-tier content producer. You can maybe get it through side-hustles (I saw one streamer I follow is contemplating selling his [pre-op transman] feet pics, or lingerie shots), but you need a following to make much with that, or you're just another artist/feet pic seller.

I've pulled in $350 through Twitch (minus fees) in around 10 months of streamer, and $300 through sponsored streams. I don't know how that stacks up in comparison to other streamers though.
