This is the most likely explanation. Miko and Pekora have been actual best friends since well before hololive. Now, imagine if suddenly both you and your best friend get a job together and everybody starts talking about how you are fucking each other. That would be pretty weird right? Miko did a lot of collabs with Pekora when Pekora was new but now they are both two of the most popular holos and they don't need to do that anymore.
