Always Omarun of course! Although I did watch Suisei a lot when she was on Duolingo all the time, that was a good motivator. If she can learn English what's stopping me from learning Japanese.
>>22680793
I have a book I used to learn Hiragana/Katakana. Kanji is a bit of a nightmare but it's just about memory.
Then for speaking I have made friends who help me that are natives which is good but also I watch Japanese films with subtitles on a lot, I recommend Ghibli movies, can't explain why but they are easy to learn from >>22680842 Probably helps as well

Good job anon. I've been learning at a snail's pace for two years now cause I am a lazy cunt, but I've still made enough progress to play slower paced games like JRPGs. Still feel bad for not actually trying to learn 10 years ago in high school, but I can still get to a decent level before I am 30 like this, which still gives me more than half of my life to use it.

What is the best website to learn japanese? I started with learning hiragana/katakana (obviously) and then i tried Duolingo, but i dropped it after 2 months because it was boring and tried japanesepod101, it is a great website but i dropped it recently because i'm trying Renshuu now and it's the best one yet, if anyone has another good alternative to learn japanese it would be helpful, i know a lot but still can't have full conversations with 2views

Getting to a point where you can output takes a long time, which can only be shortened in terms of real days by putting more time into it each day. >>>/int/djt/ has a guide, but it boils down to grinding kanji, reading a grammar guide, and reading a lot of material to make things stick. The more of that you do, the faster you'll get the hang of things.
If I had properly been reading for an hour or two each day since I got to a level where I should have been a year and a half ago, I'd probably be N1 level by now. Not that N1 matters, but still.
