It literally is twitch because they're the ones trying so hard to coomerbait, do react """"""""""content""""""""" and make a show out of mocking anyone having even a suggestion of some kind of higher standard for them. They want to pull the medium down to being literally exactly normal streamer ethot """"content"""" because it makes their lives easier not having to even pretend to be like an anime girl, and have a big problem if you want them to put in any effort into the "acts like an anime girl" part.

The people who don't have a problem with them being ethot streamers with avatars were in all likelihood not anime fans in the first place because it doesn't instinctively strike them as horribly cringe and wrong-feeling. Their judgments don't mean a lot to me and I don't give a shit if there are a lot of them, they're still fucking wrong. Another part of that is that a casual who has seen literally like 2 series on netflix thinks they're a "fan" now compared to people who have seen hundreds of series over 1-2+ decades and think their ability to judge is about the same as the latter. It just isn't. Random shitters pulled off the street should not dictate what the standard is.
