As someone who watches everything she does, her content I find it hard to put her content's personality into one single box. I would say it's generally pretty comfy though, and she usually plays slower games with a lot of text but has been trying Apex with the other girls recently even through it gives her motion sickness.

Anyways, even the ones who stream in 80% Indonesian still know a decent amount of English, occasionally have English only streams, you can infer what's going on yourself from context and sometimes there are translators. It's easy to pick up some knowledge even if sometimes it's mistakes happen.

So, for the people who watch the lesser known NijiIDs (which I guess is everyone except Hana), I was wondering. Do you talk in the chat? I really do not like stream chats at all so generally speaking I avoid even looking at them if possible. Streamers usually repeat what they read in the chat before they respond to it so if anything "important" is said I find out anyway.
However when I look at these VTubers who only get like, 70 people watching and that's it, I feel guilty about not interacting because it must be discouraging to look at your chat and see barely any messages. So I'm wondering what people around here do in this situation.

Yes, I do interact with chat. When they are smaller, there's an actual reason to post in there. I can give an example with zea, which she has between 150-100 viewers depending on the game and I talked to her directly many times in streams, be it free talk or games.

That sounds like it could get a bit confusing. I wonder if that's part of the reason why so many of them learn English as well. That said... the fact that it seems to be a vocabulary-focused language, on top of it sharing our alphabet, gets me thinking that it's one of the languages where Duolingo would actually be pretty useful to learn it. It's usually not the most effective language learning tool, but I could see it being beneficial here. I'm gonna try it out. Why not?

Anon, if you live in a developing country, learning English is beneficial for your career, especially if you want to work in a foreign-owned companies (developing countries have a truckload of foreign-owned companies). It doesn't have anything to do with the confusing native language.

Basic Indonesian is easy to learn, but yes it's a vocab-focused language. There are 300+ language in Indonesia and each of them added some new words to Indonesian. It seems like a nightmare but not really, you only need the basic words and some popular slang to understand the daily conversations.

Also Indonesia is an emerging market predicted to be in the top 4 economies in the world by 2045, surpassing Japan. Who knows maybe with you learning it right now it could helps with your career in the future?
