The only gen you could even remotely argue as being a flop is Noctyx and even they are doing about as well as ID2 and ID3 which are both huge successes in comparison to frontloaded hype-only underperformers like gen 5 or gen 6.

Why do you guys say flop in relative terms? Most of Hololive pre-gen 5 got shit numbers during debut and look at where they are now. There is going to be a huge number of people watching most new holos because debuts are not only going to attract the attention of the existing fans, but also tourists. If they can get numbers, it means that people who watched them debut choose them as their oshi/kamioshi. A debut is literally a testing phase wherein viewers decide whether they watch them or not. Having 10k or even 1k decide to choose you as someone they would rather watch than a hundred holos or nijis or other corpo is a fucking blessing.
