Her early work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when Red came out in '21, I think she really came into her own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. She's been compared to Eminem, but I think Mori has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

I think the biggest problem with Calli's rapping is that it's super uninspired. She pretty much only knows Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and maybe some obscure J-rappers which, on average, are pretty shit and uninspired themselves. Her lack of diverse influences and shallow knowledge of hip-hop really shows in everything she does.

In '22, Mori released this, Unalive, her most accomplished album. I think her undisputed masterpiece is "HUGE W", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of indulgence, and the importance of cringe, it's also a personal statement about Mori herself.
