I don't know if this really applies to hololive as well, it has been seen several times that if a talent takes time off when they come back they come back with much more expectation and popularity than when they left, even Senchou is witness to this, when she came back from her recent intermittent activity she had more CCV than usual and her number of subscribers didn't really took a big negative hit.
What I have noticed and is a big plus for Senchou is that she is one of the most clipable holos and that keeps people interest in her constantly, so I don't think this is a real concern at least for now.

The actual animation? I just jumped right in, trial and error. I had human movement to mimic in that clip and it was still tough to get something OK looking. Probably something I'd want to get a book for or maybe even try and find a class to take.

Program itself isn't too daunting at all, with some vague general knowledge about how 3D modeling/animation work (bones/skeletons/joints/movement in xyz coordinates) and some experience with ripping some MMD models into Blender for divegrass - so the interface itself wasn't an issue. Things like keyframes being set for animations "made sense" because of editing video in the past and e.g. mapping keyframes to FX in Premiere - but honestly, if you've editing animations/transitions in bloody PowerPoint you'll be able to pick up on that relatively quickly.

There are resources out there if you want more on the "technical" part of how to use MMD. it's not just a compressor, they mostly use a brickwall limiter, which i guess is also a compressor with infinite ratio, but modern brickwall limiters also have hard clippers built in. sounds really bad when you push it. better method is to use transient shapers, clippers, saturation on all tracks and busses in the mix to control peaks before mastering

The three I listen to regularly, Earphone Romance, Over the Border, Unison. Not a 2hu music connoisseur but Gensokyo is noticeably less loud than the few other albums I have. Even more so if you're living without RG.
I should've been clearer. They just have higher DR scores. That doesn't automatically mean they're less compressed, one can cook a file with "big" dynamic range on a meter like that and have it clearly sound compressed and limited to hell and back. Unison's a dynamic song on its own anyways, lot of silence, not a lot of sustained instruments.

you're kinda missing out. saturation (soft clipping) and adding harmonics is how you get things to sound fuller. all analog gear adds harmonics. the warm sound you get from a lot of vintage analog gear comes from the huge transformers which add low mid harmonics. tape adds odd harmonics and compresses more than other types of saturation, and tubes add even harmonics and sound really bright if you push them. give it a shot. it's adding all these nonlinear distortions in series that sounds really good, and it gets you closer to an analog sound if you're itb, regardless of genre or desired dynamic range. most of the time spent in mastering is to reduce dynamic range

I wouldn't trust official to mean good quality, necessarily. There are translation credits for 27, 28 and 30 though if you know who they are. Ep 30 has a translation credit for Teramachi Jin who I think does Okayu clips for example.

I watched 15 mins of #27 which has the same translator as 28 and a partial credit on 30, and those 15 mins were good quality. So I assume it's all pretty good quality.

When Kanata was doing that gyakutotsu dokkiri where she called people up doing impressions of different holos in March 2020, I was really impressed with Marine throughout the whole thing after she first showed up. I usually find totsus pretty awkward, but Marine was so at ease and natural and quick to laugh, but also sharp with the tsukkomi and kept things interesting. It's like she was genuinely enjoying herself which was in such stark contrast to other totsus I've seen where it always seems so much more painful and awkward. I was also really impressed by the spontaneity and initiative she had when she came up with the idea to both go and talk to Aqua at the same time and see if she could tell who was the real Marine, and the idea was so good that Fubuki and Matsuri wanted to get involved too. That whole situation really seemed to like, melt away the sense of obligation that totsus often have, like instead it was just people having fun on the fly. And she was like that then and she's still like that now, I remember she did a similar thing pretty recently with Korone's totsu stream, and a bit earlier than that with one of Polka's. She goes above and beyond sometimes and the genuine enthusiasm she has is really cool.

In general that naturalness and friendliness and good-natured, fun-loving side of her is really attractive I think, it's a really appealing personality to want to watch, especially because she's comparatively very witty and quick on her feet. Like I think she compares very favourably on those fronts anyway when it comes to vtubers or streamers in general.

She also comes across as being very frank and honest, omotenashi in a believable way. And I like that she comes across as someone with strong and broad sexual interest and desires. Actually more and more things are coming to mind that I like about Marine and I don't wanna sit here typing forever because I very easily could just explaining in detail what she does differently that makes me think she's so special, but that's not what the question was.

In terms of the first experience that drew me in, the impression she made on me in that gyakutotsu stream was it. It was a great introduction and representation of a small slice of what I would come like about her.
