The deal is not only the objectively inferior design. What throws me off, is the fact that she intentionally killed something that the fanbase loved without ever giving a reason and stating so many times that she wasn't going to do exactly what she did.

It was poorly handled to be fair. She seemed incapable of properly addressing it honestly. Probably the only singular issue that she didn't handle that well in my view. To my knowledge, I believe the reason to be that the badgers seemed (to her perhaps) to be taking away attention to her in a way beyond just a cute model. As in it was taking on a life of its own.
I disagree of course, it was literally such an amazing concept for a mascot and I think any chuuba would kill for such a fan mascot. Too late now unfortunately. I still will always be a badger, no matter what, /here/.

Suddenly, they stop serving Coca-Cola with the burgers and switch to dollar store soda. They claim too many people were going there because of the coke fountain, taking away the focus from the burgers.

Yeah Nade's been using it for just over a week. She drew and rigged this one herself. There's a professionally drawn and rigged model on the way too. Her voice is deeper because she had a late growth spurt (she's failed all the recent HEE HEE redeems), and she prefers speaking in a deeper tone anyways. She says she feels more confident, and that it helps her speak better.

I want to like them, I really do, but they lack identity. Even if the idea were to take one element of Nade's own design and develop it into a recognizable standalone being, it's not quite there. They don't look like dark magic, they have a flower on their heads but aren't wholly a flower, the hands aren't quite emphasized enough to define them that way either, all three come together visually but not conceptually. I look at it and my first impression is a JRPG slime monster with hands. They don't even make me wonder what these cute little things all over her channel are, I would have just assumed they were her slime familiars, as she's a witch.

The fact that she only came around to designing the mascots last week while she had ideas for her model design for months suggests that she hadn't come up with anything before then. Otherwise, we wouldn't have needed that tangent during the second asset drawing stream. I'll acknowledge that she may make me eat crow come the redebut but, for now, I stand by my claim that the mascot doesn't have the sense of identity to stand alongside her own character.

It's tricky for now because even if one were to apply the new lore conservatively, the current model she's using is itself transitionary. I still think it's worth doing but you'd probably end up putting more thought into the lore that's not there than Nade has had time to put into the lore that is.

Wasn't this specifically about the decision to have the emotes depict herself instead of the badgers? Her rationale that the emotes would be used across twitch and thereby represent her channel made sense, at least.
