I listened to UnAlive because of all the spam on the catalog, and not only is it bad, she isn't very good at singing period. I always assumed she was as I've always thought that she was the musician of Myth but holy fuck she was straining in that song while not doing anything impressive.

Stream numbers will be huge so she'll get a pretty penny from that. I don't know how she'll feel if the critics diss her music though. Seems like that's more important than money for her since she wants to be a respected rapper.

Lots of people still buy physical albums - when it comes to niche releases like this, anyway. Average normalfag doesn't care now that he can stream, but a Suisei or Mori fan would appreciate a physical CD even if he just plays mp3s. Hell I'm far gone enough I'd probably buy Suisei cutlery, nevermind her CDs.

RYM likes interesting music with eclectic production that delivers a sharply defined personality. There's a reason the highest rated vtuber albums on the site are by Pinky Pop, Mito, and Luna, all of which tap into the extremes of denpa and jp experimental rock scenes.

RYM is not best for jazz or classical listeners. More popular music is weighted higher, so Persona is going to be higher rated than some obscure hard bop artist. Some genre lists are absolutely dire, metal tends to be vastly overrated, etc. RYM has its biases and blindspots but is useful to track what you've listened to and find new music

To be fair, only people who think their opinions matter decide to rate music "seriously". Fans don't usually rate music, they like what they hear, listen to it, and go on with their lives. For example, who honestly gives a fuck what Anthony Fantano thinks about music? Only people that need validation to like the things they like would feel compelled to listen to what he has to say. Just the same, do you really need these nerd ass niggers to decide whether you like something? Listen and make up your mind. Is it shit or not? that's entirely up to you

This reminds me of Filthy Frank's video about music tastes. The whole "my generation's music was much better" and "I listen to real music" shit.

All this thread is garbage and a mass of sweaty nerds yelling at each other what others should like. Ffs who cares just kisten to it and made up hour mind. Music is too much of a subjective liking yo judge it impartially.

>CDs
I appreciate the sentiment, but if you're doing this to avoid losing your content, you should reconsider. CDs are for collecting, not storage. For things to last, you want mechanical hard drives (or magnetic tape if you're hardcore about it) for digital files and vinyl for physical releases.

The thing with CDs over a long enough time is that disc rot is a thing, even when they're just sitting there. And even if you avoid disc rot, the packaging itself can go bad for CDs in a way that vinyl packaging doesn't. Case in point - I once lost a bunch of rare late 80s, early 90s opera because the 'protective' foam inside the cases degraded into this chemical sludge that stuck to the discs and destroyed them.

I bought Sora's releases in the past year; physical albums.
Not because I particularly like her j-pop or any pop for that matter but I refuse to give jewtube it's 30% of silver in supacha juat to show my overall appreciation of her in general.
Didn't even take them out of the packaging because I haven't had a cd-rom drive for a few years now and the old hi-fis are lost in the basement.
I think before this the last thing I bought was something off bandcamp in 2016.
I've just been subsisting on the same ripped files I've had for years and years.

I fucking hate that you just reminded me.
Lost so many old symphonies in Deutsche Grammaphone cases where they insisted on using that fucking foam. Now I'm mad at the memory.
I bought a cheap mp3-cd player once back when they were a thing after accidentally destroying a gen 2 ipod and a minidisc recorder.
Used and reused the same cd-rw i'd burn and erase tracks from.
In maybe 6 months the disc just disintegrated off the clear plastic circular base lmao.
I'd accelerated disc aging that usually takes a few years at the very least to manifest.
>they last forvever!
>uh no, dvd's last a century!
>uh, now this new disc tech lasts at least a decade!!
>uh...
