Solo queueing requires either a legend that can isolate enemies i.e Bangalore/Maggie or that you have amazing movement to position yourself for breaking the fights into separate 1v1v1s. Selen plays solo queue with legends like Gibby or Bloodhound but she also plays as though the randoms she's queued up with understand that she's grinding for rank. She's playing like how Aqua used to play in Season 7: get hit once, run into the farthest cover possible, and if the team doesn't wipe the enemy squad, run away and rat for the rest of the game.

The current rank point system encourages you to take the easy fights early when everyone has white/blue armor and become more cautious for placement to scale up those early kill points.

Aqua is miles ahead of Selen mechanically. This is from someone who has watched both Aqua's master run and Selen's recent streams. Selen seems very sound strategically and I can't compare Aqua in that area. But in a pure aim duel, Aqua comes out on top 19/20 times (and that other 1 is just an acknowledgement of Apex's randomness)
