Kicking off Menhera Monday a bit early, but considering going on a hiatus for a while, my grandpas dying and I'm still recovering from my dad and grandma dying a few months ago on top of two friends committing suicide back to back a few years ago. I'm pretty much at the point where its the kind of tired sleep wont fix, and was even too tired to sleep when I got back from seeing him. Might just spend the week catching up on Gundam and some other stuff and working on my garden if weather permits.

twitch partners always get all the quality options available for viewers for their stream - for affiliates twitch essentially has a bank of quality option access passes that get given to currently live streamers as they're available, prioritizing based on viewcount - if you're pushing partner numbers as affiliate you'll almost always have quality options but if you're in the 50 and below range it's a tossup or unlikely that your viewers will be able to watch in anything but the quality you broadcast in (which if it's 1080p a lot of people have internet too shit to view)

There probably aren't that many Gundam games that are suitable for the show's format. Anything Super Robot Wars would take way too long. There could also be licensing issues, not sure. I'd need to check if there have been other Banpresto properties on the show. Arino did take a look at Steel Battalion, though.

Another Sunday Night, another schedule, another week ahead of me.
Nothing too interesting in the long run, though I am gearing up to go GAMER MODE and probably get cancelled, but that's a risk I'm willing to take. Other than that, finally hit 300 Subs on the Youtube Channel, though I am debating going a bit harder on the Shorts Content.
Wonder if double dipping Shorts and a "Regular Video" with the same audio would do better or worse. Hmm, have to think about that one.

I think a big reason why I don’t trust what people say is my deeply seated paranoia which flares up every time I’m stressed. I tend to overthink and plan things to the extreme so I always assume other people do that too. I kinda feel the same way, but finding someone early that you know is gonna make it is a magical thing. years ago I was going down the rabbit hole of how-to guides on youtube and came across a YT channel of this older dude who lived in the woods and made toys. technically not vtuber related I guess, but he had a similar gimmick, where he played a character and had a little puppet avatar to represent the character, and never showed face/skin to keep the person behind it separate. he only had ~1,000 subscribers at the time, but all his videos were well edited, fun, and you could tell he put a lot of work and passion into his production. he would respond to every comment, even when his channel started growing and he'd have dozens of them, and talked to a lot of his audience through email and DMs, helping them with their craft projects and discussing different methods for making things. he even had a PO box for a while, and everything that got sent to him, big or small, got showcased on his channel, because he didn't want to show favoritism. it was a great time with a great small-knit community around him, but of course, something like that doesn't last forever.
eventually he started becoming better known, with a couple videos getting hit with the algorithm and a lucky shoutout from a surprisingly big creator, he jumped from a couple thousand subs to tens of thousands, eventually to 100,000. by now he was getting 100+ comments, so he stopped responding to all of them. at around 200,000 he shut down his PO box because someone staked out the box trying to catch him in person, and he couldn't possibly showcase everything anymore either. he's sitting around half a million now, and just announced that he's gonna have to shut down his email because it's become too much to handle. the once small knit community has dissolved into a much larger conglomerate of fans, who fill the comment section pining for a once-common response from the creator.

it's going to happen to the people you love here too. as the numbers increase, the interaction will decrease, and the audience will transition from "acquaintances" to "fans", and this will be the good end! as much as I hate to see the small communities fade away, I've never regretting seeing people who deserve success make it, and I know some of you here are going to make it too, so I wish only the best for ya along the way. godspeed, anons

Tinder will be different, after you "match" you're instantly portaled to a private room where you can have sex virtually, perfectly safely, with any stranger you fancy.

VR is an oddball, because it's developing so slowly and it's social by nature, that it's already pozzed, it doesn't have an awesome community like /vt/, but there are still a ton of geniuses in there. Worth getting into.

Eh, it depends and success with livestreaming is never a foregone conclusion no matter someone's talent. There are some pretty hard walls to overcome in streaming, just because someone goes from 23 views to 80 views, or 80 views to 200 views, doesn't mean that the next jump is guaranteed. Each one of the next hurdles becomes harder and harder to get over. And it's pretty much impossible to become a 1k+ vtuber on twitch without clawing your way into the vsj/lig circlejerk.

The best peak of /wvt/ was probably Jan-March 2021. Not only was the pool of chuubas much smaller and more tight-knit (due to being called 4clover gen 1-5) but It was exciting when chuubas everyone talked about started self-posting like shimada, josabelle, meat, coqui etc who actually understood the threads and lurked long before.

It started going downhill a month or so after since people kept bringing /asp/ies into the threads (daishima??). These new chuubas didn't know the thread etiquette and clearly didn't lurk before posting. I'm not an aspie hater but it certainly started going downhill once they all joined in. Not all were bad, and some like kimi, purity and a few others were fine.
Then you throw fire on the threads with the bunzelcord drama, ziassan/carol, shania and wojack schizo shitting up the threads, rin going schizo mode full-time and it just got worse and worse.
