It's not like they suddenly stopped collabs overnight. It was a gradual process. The "purity" thing might have started it but I remember they still had plenty of cross-company collabs during early 2020.
Collabs with guys were really never THAT common and other than a few obvious exceptions like Subaru or Miko, most of the girls that used to do them regularly still do them now.
Hololive becoming way more popular (mostly in the west) and EN coming out meant they started focusing a lot more on Hololive itself. And then the zhang drama was the final nail in the coffin.

Not counting ID, the exceptions today are Matsuri and Towa and the rest hardly ever collab with males. Fubuki only collabs with Holostars once every 3-4 months.
