It was always that way even in the early days. Kizuna Ai was literally created by Activ 8 and auditionned Nozomi Kasuga. Same thing for a lot of early big names: Shiro, Gamebu, Mirai Akari, Kaguya Luna, etc. All created by corpos. The big indie was always the exception

Well, I personally have never seen people fanboy or get so aggressive about Google or Amazon, since they're basically unrivaled in their respective markets, so there's no fierce competition to slander or support.

It's mostly hardware (Apple v Microsoft, console wars), except maybe windows v linux slapfights.
