I had just made it home after getting off the night shift and was about to hop into bed when I got a notification on my phone. The based clips bunny was streaming PNG Story. "What the fuck is PNG Story?". I had never watched Kiki up until this point, I just mindlessly subscribed after seeing the based clips. I fell in love with Kiki that stream. That was the only comment I made that stream, the new model debut. Right after that she streamed stardew and I remained silent for another 2 hours until she started talking about little man and little lady when I said "aww cute". Then she started talking about her wanting to be a wife and how that might be cringe and I said "nonono it's super cute". By that point you could say I already stopped being a lurker because a little later she started talking about psychology and I was already writing paragraphs, so I didn't even lurk for 3 hours.

Watching that stream again I think the moment when I first got hooked was when she got close to the screen and asked for a kiss, and gave some in turn... Feels kinda bad to admit but I immediately got addicted to Kiki kissies. At first they didn't seem like they were intended for me, I definitely didn't "mwah" in chat this was during my "lurking phase" but I felt like I wanted them.

The psychology stuff also made me realize she's pretty smart and wise. At that point she started reading some of my comments, agreed with some disagreed with others. Then it veered into DnD which was also nice and nerdy. There really was a lot to like about this girl.

A couple kissies and an awawa later I'm further reminded how damn sexy she is. Did I mention I loved her new model? I really really do.

Then the shit hit the fan, she started worrying about whether people like her new model, even being paranoid that people are lying in chat that they like it but being honest in thread about disliking it. Then she failed a sarcasm check and got really sad about it, on the verge of crying, further elaborating that this stems from her fear of abandonment. My inner saviorfag was awakened and this moment was what I was initially going to write as my strongest first memory. I really felt like I needed to help her anyway I could. I just ended up posting a few platitudes in a sea of the same but that feeling stuck with me. Seeing her sad is bittersweet because it is something I want to avoid at all costs but it is also what made me fall in love with her.

From her wife talk and fear of people leaving her I realized right away I need to make a clear decision, do I commit or do I get the fuck out as soon as possible. I gave myself a day to think about it and as soon as I woke up the next day I was thinking about her and I was willing to give this marriage thing a shot. It still took me like a week until I was certain what I felt was love and until I felt comfortable saying that I love her but I knew from that stream already that I would inevitably fall in love with her if I allowed myself.

I've been playing it a lot. Definitely closest to Dark Souls 3 in gameplay feel. If you liked that, you should like this. I'm a little torn on the open world bit, there's good and bad to it. It feels really good to go out of your way and find something cool you weren't expecting, but also slows the overall game down a lot. I've enjoyed the exploration, but I don't know how it will hold up on second playthroughs. Because the world is so huge, it feels more lonely than previous souls games. In past games, especially near launch, you would see bonfires just surrounded by summon signs at all points in the game. Here, especially if you're going through one of the smaller side dungeons, in a way out of the way place, you might find yourself standing around waiting a long time for a sign to appear, even now, when the game has the most simultaneous players it will probably ever have. This is partially made up for by the fact you can collect singleplayer pokemon summons, but most of them are pretty trash.

I love the game and rate it highly, but it's just Dark Souls 4: Ubisoft Edition. Like FarCry or Assassin's Creed, you'll probably wake up from a trance at some point realizing you've just been doing kind of boring open world objectives for the past few hours. But, unlike those games, the open world is actually amazing to look at, with super good art direction and set pieces. There are some copy-paste objectives (Erdtree guardians, mage towers, dragon hunts, etc) but they all take place in an extremely well put together and designed world.

Bit of a tangent but this reminds me of an argument I heard recently, about Elden Ring and immersion. The guy was talking about how a minimap is bad for immersion because you keep looking at it instead of the world around you, paying attention to landmarks and remembering the area.
