People get caught up in comparing Niji and Holo when the reality us that they aren't really the most important comparison since projections and standards for success are always doing to differ from company to company based on costs, established reach and projections.

Council can be argued to be a failure, perhaps, because it didn't really build on the HoloEN brand despite that bring the obvious intention.

Compare this with Niji who managed to go from being a very small presence in the west to having some of the highest paid EN vtubers by building up brand perceptionwith a series of waves that increases salience and momentum.

While Luxieum would probably have done well if they were gen 1, they probably wouldn't have achieved the same level of popularity without the girls to establish a foothold on the market.

First of all, NijiEN was made to compete with HoloEN and only Vox has the same numbers as the Hologirls. Luxiem are in their honeymoon period and they have still not achieved the heights of Council/Myth during their debut period. People are comparing Council that is several months outside their honeymoon period vs the first big male corpo on their honeymoon period. Look at Noctyx, they debut to 50k and they barely beat 5k viewers now. Just because one guy is successful doesn't mean Hololive is an absolute failure.
