Unlike many anti cover fags here I don't think Cover interferes too much in the talents affairs they should just tell them the rules of what they can and can't do, the problem comes when the antis are the ones who scrutinize everything hololive does to have that precious "gotcha" moment is just like what happened with the BL and the fridge incident, no fan saw anything wrong but it was the fucking antis that made the fuss, and unfortunately Cover (like all companies even western ones) have to react to the fuss that those cockroaches create. these days I'll almost guarantee "eating questionable things" is on her NG list, but at the time she probably didn't want to be a party pooper and shoot down her new co-workers ideas for content. She wanted to be a team player and get along with these people and not have to be a special snowflake that people have to plan around. And also, she was banking a lot on not having to face punishments by not losing the games in the first place.

I think it's interesting how much things have changed. Not only is she a lot more comfortable with everyone in hololive and probably feels way more comfortable speaking up about what she isn't comfortable with, but she's also made it. She's rich and famous and successful now, and she's more self-confident and confident in her own status and doesn't feel so much anymore like someone whose preferences don't matter. I think she doesn't feel that same need to grind and sacrifice and bleed, she can just do what she wants.

If I had to take a shot in the dark I would say that her family is slightly below middle class in Japan (which would equate to middle class in the US anyway) for all the things she has talked about owning like consoles, games and computers when she was growing up so she didn't live a life of deprivation as far as I can tell.

So recently I went back and rewatched her try to sing Sakurakaze the day after she and Miko had to make that public apology. She was having a lot of trouble and had to stop mid-song multiple times. At the time, I don't think a lot of people watching really understood what was going on with her and what the issues were with her voice and why she was having trouble singing and having weird problems with her breathing. But with the context of knowing that she has these vocal chord nodules, it is really remarkable how obviously badly she was exhibiting all the symptoms associated with them, and how precisely she was describing those symptoms when she was describing what she was experiencing.

She had been having trouble with her voice off and on for like a year by that point already of course, but she usually said it was more like stuff to do with reflux or inflammation. I think they only found the nodules the first time later in like July. But watching her struggle so badly to get through a single song like that and what it was doing to her just to try did a lot to remind me how problematic these nodules have been for her. Considering that pushing through it and trying to be active anyway even when her voice wasn't in great shape is a big part of how she ended up in this situation, it really was a good reminder as to how necessary this situation we're in now where taking breaks and resting her voice a lot really is. Part of me forgets at times, and there are times where I want to blame her for not streaming for us, for not being active. But really, it's not her fault. She desperately wishes she was better, it really comes across in the way she talks about it.

She really does want to stream more, I don't think she's lost her passion or anything like some people say, but to the extent it has it's mostly just this issue taking its toll on her. But these were the cards she was dealt, what's happening now is necessary. I just hope it works out, and we can get her back at almost 100% again someday.
