Nah, that'd take longer. Just buy a small bit of land near a decently sized city and a good sized mobile home of some kind. Get water + electricity on the land and hook up the trailer, then you just have to pay yearly land, water and electricity taxes instead of several thousand per month in rent. It's a better transitionary plan than trying to go from renting straight to a house, unless you live is some shithole that charges you fuckloads of taxes like New York, California, etc. If you live in a good area you'll only pay a few hundred per year in those taxes.

Literally I am doing this. It works amazingly well if you're smart about your positioning. I'm only about fifteen minutes away from one of the biggest cities in my state. Weird city rats act like if you don't live in the middle of the suburbs suddenly you're in the middle of nowhere. Also you can sell the land and trailer when you're done with them, unlike getting a refund on rent.

This makes the west coast sound like middle-earth or something, I like it.

Air conditioners exist, and usually are built into the trailer. You'd want to get a good one to make sure it doesn't break all the time, so be sure to look for reviews on trailers that talk about the air conditioners breaking down. I'd recommend getting one with an awning as well to cut down on some of the heat on the door. It would also probably help you too, saying as very few people would buy a small lot of sand unless they had a plan for it, which you now do, though it may become hard to sell it again in the future. If it's the type of desert that gets extremely cold at night as well you should put things like sheets of wood around the base of the trailer to help you with conserving heat in order to not waste any as well as to keep animals out from under it.

It largely depends on you and how much room you need. You can get pretty big ones if you're willing to spend more, but if you're a packrat you'll probably end up wanting more and more room. If you really need more than a larger trailers worth you can build a small storage building on the property as well as a kind of patio area if you'd like, saying as you own it. Just be sure you know if there are any restrictions on a property before you buy it, and do lots of research to avoid making any dumb mistakes with it. I myself am pretty comfy, as I don't need much room for myself, I've got my pc set up and some workout equipment, tv, etc. Be sure to get a lot outside of a city's county to avoid their high taxes but close enough you can drive into one to get a higher paying job, this lowers your property taxes while increasing your income at the same time. Win win.

The thing is, this courtesy has always existed you know. Zoomers might not remember but people always got colds even before this one and everyone hated them for going out in public back then too. Whenever someone was miserable because they had a cold they would tell you which co-worker or family member they blamed for inflicting this misery upon them. And they'd do things differently in an effort to "not pass it on"...but they also couldn't get welfare checks for pretending to be disabled so at a certain point when that cold got to you, you still had to just suck it up and go to work even if it was in a reduced capacity because getting sick didn't mean you suddenly get free food and shelter. At a certain point, society requires people who are afraid to get sick to be the ones to stay home and everyone else to go out and people who get SERIOUSLY sick are usually not capable of even getting around enough to spread it. When I get really sick, I struggle going to my own fridge to eat a meal for the day, let alone go pass it on to a bunch of strangers.
