Nijis use Liver since they were livestreaming back when Vtubers still made primarily pre-recorded content. It was a way to differentiate themselves since the term "Vtubers" wasn't synonymous with streaming as yet. There's your free history lesson.

Im no Eigo main, so to me reading "Livers" naturally spells out as 'Laivers', as it should. That said its a really silly word conceptually and im in agreement with english autists with broken usage of latin letters, that it should go.
