Why does Cover hire talented artists to pay the bare minimum?

Coco worked because of the environment she was in. She was the alternate personality girl with a supporting cast she could play off, and who could react in an entertaining way to her shock routine. Even when EN joined there was no-one like her.
KSon is the same character without her supporting cast, and instead has guest stars which are closer to her in personality so the dynamic is not the same. She no longer feels special., she’s just the retired 80s star doing the convention circuit.
It would be like if Haachama left to join a group of four crazy shitposters. Her unique specialness would be gone.

To be clear, it's still her, but by having a seperation of Coco, it allowed her to play up parts of herself that she would otherwise not be able to play up. There was also the fact that she had so many other people to bounce off of, and some people really step up when they're surrounded by people they're comfortable with.

At least the Coco thing showed other holos that even if you have a loyal simp cult, you'll lose a major part of your income within 6 months, she'll be fine but other holos would be fucked. Her solo content just isn't as entertaining, the Holo network is too valuable. I'm glad that if Mori tried this she'll run out of money within a few years. Can't wait for it.

GMMF was a good idea, it allowed Coco fans botn in JP and overseas exposure to the indie vtubing world. To bad she over did it by making it everyday which eventually burned her out. In those 4 months after her new, amazing model debut she had nosh sponsorship, ninkyo café collab, extended reach to the en and jp vtubers, had 5-6 interviews in Japanese media, her mental state is stable, in fact she enjoys being indie with all its benefits and drawbacks.
Now, if she stayed as Coco, nothing would change, she would be still relegated to sidelines, every collab would bring her pain as the participants would be spammed, she wouldn't be able to participate in big events, and anything regarding her content and new ideas would be greet with constant "NO" from Cover.

When she defended towa on asacoco most of the thread was against her.
Everytime she showed a male on stream, whether it was that financial analyst guy, the quartering, koefficient, or gigguk the vast majority hated her.
Her solo gameplay was mostly quiet boring and only 2 or 3 anons watched her utawaku.
After asacoco 1.0 was stopped there were fewer CMs, and compared the before there was a very noticeable drop in quality (with Coco herself complaining about lack of content)
There were maybe 10 memes from the shitpost review that /jp/ liked but it was usually just an excuse to get shitfaced.

November to Feb last year she was mostly ignored and there was hardly any discussion about her anniversary compared to earlier big shows. And there was a lot of increasing hostility about her wanting to collab with en, and brining the chink spam to whoever she collabed with.
The model update did get a lot of people interested, and when she cried that also got a lot of people riled up.
But when she quit the majority opinion completely switched. Of course, by that time /jp/ was 70% antis/schizos (and mostly still is like that).
A few of the regular posters returned for some of the big streams, but the general opinion was that Cocofags blamed cover and the other holos so they needed to gtfo.
