To the Miko poster, I have a suggested altercation to your border claim. I liked the petal shape idea, but the shape needs to be more organic looking for it to be believable as a nation border. I also changed the position since it would have been awkward to work around with where it was.
I made sure to place it where there could be a volcano in the center, though the climate will be a bit chillier. If you really don't like the placement change I could find another spot eventually.

>>17978520
So far I've been mostly avoiding places that already have claims, but I probably should go ahead and add what has already been claimed.

I don't know if this place is already claimed of not but since now I have a clearer image of where would the countries be, can I place the Suisei general country here (picrel)? I said before that I wanted mountains and a volcano but those things have low priority in comparison to the bay and observatories don't really need a high ground. I want it to be a naval nation in a template/coldish climate with a bay, that's more important

Would this general area work? The region you specified would be a bit too big, and I'm planning on putting some of the Hololive EN council countries there.

Here's my suggested borders for the Watamelon Caliphate. Since Watermelons were domesticated in Egypt, I put Watamelon in a desert climate, which also feels fitting with this post >>17000105
I know it may be strange for Watermelons to be in a mostly desert climate, but they were originally used to store water, which made them especially useful for a desert climate as a way to store water.
Also they're in the Hololive continent since Watame is Hololive, though I'm still not entirely sure whether Watamelon counts as a Hololive general since they're not overly focused on Watame herself.

Also I made /meat/ bigger, since they didn't need to be that small.

I could give them that Mediterranean peninsula down south, though the downside would be that /who/ would be a bit disconnected from the other council members.
The other option would be to put them north, and have the remaining 4 council member nations use the remaining space in the north-western part of the continent.

>>17992550
Oh yeah, I forgot that /#/ had claimed tiny bits around there since it isn't in the OP image. Personally I think their claim is way too small, and I would rather give them a better spot. I'll make new suggested borders for them, and if they really hate it then I can always squeeze them back in where they were before since they would be taking up so little space.

Once that's decided, any chance I can get our border without the pink filling so I can redraw the volcano inside? Apparently volcanoes can be by themselves and don't have to be part of a mountain range so there's a bit less restriction on that

Here's my suggested borders for Luknights/Candy Kingdom.
The existing claim by the Luna thread seen here >>18017412
has the issue of being too big (Since 20+ more generals still need to fit on the continent), and being in a location that is needed in order to fit the other Hololive council members next to /rrat/.

I think this location and territory fits better with this lore post
>>17788431
since it's more Switzerland-like, with it having mountains around most of the territory and a protected river valley in the center.

I'm also still not sure whether /ppg/ should be on the JP or Western continent since they are a JP company, but they're exclusively focused on the Western audience. The Western continent is bigger though, so it might make more sense to be there for that reason.

>> No.18039912

Here's a /yah/ lore update. More will come later depending on what our final boundaries and location are. We're still discussing a flag. Are there any plans for a wiki or something like that for this project? It might not be a bad idea.

Once an island inhabited by roaming savages, /yah/ was discovered by a independent Japanese polar bear adrift from the mainland. Marooned on the island and searching for shelter, the polar bear named Kumagai Chisato soon captured the attention of the savages. In a stroke of luck, the savages became fascinated by her presence and rather than attack her on sight they took her in as their daughter. Beatani, as she asked to be called, was an inspiration to the savages and soon the new family founded XP Hill, a city set atop its namesake. This journey would later become something of a pilgrimage, with followers of Beatani reverently following her footsteps.

The new civilization grew and developed quickly, and soon the fledgling republic discovered oil and became wealthy. Following the example of their daughter, many citizens, known amongst themselves as Dads, started practicing art and before long a booming arts and crafts sector emerged. These works of art and other creative endeavors make the /yah/ Republic a strong exporter of culture, though visitors will also find many appealing works imported from overseas with oil money.

The governing structure is a republic in name, a cult in reputation and anarchy in practice. While in theory all dads are equal under the law, there are persistent rumors of an "Inner Circle" with closer access to Beatani. To her cult-like devotees this is unforgivable and any perception of preferential treatment, real or imagined, causes massive infighting among the citizens of the Republic. This makes a governing hierarchy almost impossible to maintain, so in practice most decisions are arrived at with general consensus with occasional guidance from Beatani rather than any formal process. To the outsider it may seem like consequential decisions are determined by whim, and in many respects this is the case. Despite this, /yah/ is mostly cohesive and will unite quickly against any external threats. Some dads feel that the Republic is too wary of outside civilizations and should try to form alliances with other nations, but this is often met with skepticism.

Doing borders for the council members is quite tricky, since I have to juggle putting them near each other while also trying to maintain the lore/claims that people have made for them.
I beg the /inf/ posters to allow this change moving /inf/ from being in the middle of the fucking ocean to actually being near the other council members as this would make much most sense according to the lore everyone has created.
I'll even throw in the tiny islands that you guys wanted to isolate yourselves to, to keep the map of your territory somewhat consistent with what you have with this lorepost: https://rentry.org/28ccs

Also for /who/ is this location acceptable? I remember seeing an image where they wanted to claim other further away territory, but this at least fits with this lorepost >>16988212
with the territory being hilly, along with some other loreposts that would put you guys near /uuu/.

The problem is the placement of their island is too far away from everything. I just hope they'll compromise and at least move their island/territory to the northwest part of the Hololive continent so they'll be bordering other council members to not conflict with the lore that they border /uuu/.
Also there's so much snowy deadspace that's going to end up empty since no one wants to put their territory there, and /inf/ is one of the few generals where an ice theme actually make sense.

>> No.18054418

>>18053165
It makes perfect sense given infinity is isolated, yet has a lot of people who post there to trade or shill compared to a lot of other splits. Also if you look at the global winds and currents chart for the world, they located themselves where you can travel to the island easily from the south and back to the mainland from the north making it easier to travel too and forth.

If you're worried about empty space you can always just leave it empty or let the remaining 4 council members vie for where you put infinity.

everyonce in a while they get enough fuel (either recieved from their goddess or otherwise) and launch off into the atmosphere. The idea here is that whenever /nasa/ takes breaks they just go off the map.
Their level of technology would be accomodated to that of the world so that they don't go off orbital striking, the explanation would be that when they first crash landed on the world they lost the ability to mantain their high technology and switched to only the most vital of functions

So unless there's an Asteroid belt nearby that means asteroid mining is off the table. So I'm going to assume technology level has crashed so hard its on par with modern day tech. And if there's a crater from the first crash then that will be /nasa/'s landing site. Which smoldering craters suck for respurces except for surface mining. And if the biome's too rainy then the crater risks flooding into a lake. Might be benefecial in a few hundred years. But we're talking about the present.

>> No.18097231

The crater would be useful in collecting rainwater and surface mining exposed ores. Though the rainwater can be contaminated by toxic metals from the station. Also the crater will have pieces of the station in it, which can be reclaimed and recycled if need be. The crater itself won't be used for re-landing. But /nasa/ should have the technology for soft landing on stable land nearby. Weapons will most likely be ballistics rather than lasers since cartridges are practical to produce and don't lose charge over time like batteries. Building jets and ships is possible but /nasa/ lacks the manpower for a full navy and airforce. /nasa/ is the least populated general on the board. So they're focused on keeping themselves alive.

The crater is from the initial crash landing. That's how /nasa/'s tech is nerfed. Technology got destroyed with no way of replacing it without hundreds of years of factory building. The station can orbit the planet once in a while with soft landing with Sana's blessing. In the meantime we're scavenging for resources and scrap since we're so short staffed. I'm making shit up as I go based on the last anon's post. I think the idea is the space ship is in tact enough that it can orbit once in a while when Sana streams. But it can't stay in orbit for long without needing to return to Earth for resources. I wish it was just a star ship instead of a station because stations are massive. None of this is set in stone. Just trying to figure out what works.

We can scrap the crash entirely. It kinda symbolizes YouTube eating Sana's subs at launch. Those unsubs where Sanalites dying in the crash.

How do yabs directed straight at chuubas instead of other generals make sense in lore? Where does /jp/ fit in? Think we should try and establish something for real.

I mean, outside of eruptions the volcano is essentially just a regular mountain. Eruptions can however greatly affect the climate, even globally; Volcanic ash and dust and gasses released during an eruption block out sunlight which causes temporary lasting from several months to even years cooling of the climate. Due to wind patterns eruptions near or in the tropics may affect the climates of both the northern and the southern hemisphere, while eruptions that happen on high latitudes tend to only affect a single hemisphere. I'm not really an expert at this if someone knows better please correct me.

As for the effect of volcanoes on the environment surrounding them, volcanic rock and soil is very rich in some elements that are required for plant growth leading to the land surrounding volcanoes and land that is volcanic to be quite fertile. Active volcanoes do occasionally erupt and when they do they are rather destructive to their environment, not only due to the obvious pyroclastic flow but also due to many toxic chemicals being released during an eruption.

/morig/ has a reputation worldwide for being a nation of merchants. Indeed, sailors and traders to moor at one of the island’s many ports can attest to the hustle and bustle, but perhaps the most striking takeaway from the experience of the nation’s port town markets is how improbably vast the selection of wares is. In addition to local products, consisting overwhelmingly of creative efforts such as music, recreation, and the visual arts, one can find numerous stalls featuring wares and other trinkets from all around the globe. The local merchants and other peddlers are known for being jovial and hospitable, which many first-time foreign visitors often remark as being odd and contrary to the grisly reputation surrounding the nation and its inhabitants. They are often very well-traveled and will happily regale interested customers with stories of their worldly endeavors spanning every continent, even speaking highly of just about every other deity and community they’ve encountered while encouraging a visit of their own, though they are also quick to affirm they are unquestionably devoted to the patron deity of the land. Fishing enjoys a thriving culture.

One must nevertheless watch their tongue when speaking to the bony denizens of the island, as even the smallest offhand mention of a short list of topics can alight something darkly primal and hostile behind the eyes of even the most cheerful seller.

The legends of the old /hlgg/ pantheon are known the world over, as it was their induction, after all, which was so instrumental in the genesis of the world we inhabit to begin with. The goddess of /morig/, twice disgraced, damned in the eyes of some and treated as an omen of disaster, is nevertheless worshiped as a benevolent and kind patron deity and revered for her beauty and song.

There exists an ancient, low-altitude (probably) dormant volcano, which is considered the holiest site on the island and the home of the goddess. Since ages past, the black earth and volcanic metals were harvested and used to construct buildings and tools. The mountain itself and the area surrounding it, inexplicably cooler in temperature and filled with famously beautiful cherry trees, is devoid of any inhabitants. Just below the summit, there is a single shrine, which is the residence of the goddess. There exists a legend in which the volcano is prophesied to erupt, bringing Death and covering the entire world in ashen sakura petals. Local superstition also tells a tale of a hole in the sky opening up above the mountain, through which a blue bird descends to speak unspeakable things. Talk of this legend is met with heavy ridicule by the locals, though it has in turn led to more rumors of underground cults who insist that the denizens of /morig/ in fact worship a demon. Even still, there are additional rumors that, unbeknownst, the goddess walks among the people.

The scars of civil war are not lost on deadbeats, nor are the memories of countless barbarian invasions spanning generations. Passersby on trade vessels on a clear day may be able to spy the beaches, never too far from port, lined with the rotting, hollowed-out carcasses of centuries-old warships, which remain undisturbed since their destruction, as well as the several dozens, if not hundreds, of javelins, many rusted by blood and age, that decorate the solemnly quiet shores like obsidian stakes of gruesome execution, stuck in the sand as an everlasting symbol and reminder to the world and the island nation’s inhabitants. The turbulent diplomatic history of /morig/ with its allies has possibly stereotyped the nation one of unstable isolationists, but the decomposing shards of eggshell on the shores may paint another, more unified picture.

In addition to the merchant caste of deadbeats, there is also the warrior caste. The upper echelons of their rank, though sparse in number, are considered quite mighty. All inhabitants are taught from a young age the basics of war, as well as the ultimate fate of all deadbeats. Those considered too brittle of bone or fickle of mind are treated as outcasts, and, in their discontent, often travel to other lands for asylum, usually in search of sympathy or else more chaos. Due to self-discipline, and perhaps their own bloody history, the deadbeats of /morig/, commercial and warrior alike, are largely immune to the False Flag psychological warfare weapons and other agents that were endemic during the wars in the twilight hours of the /jp/ era. The warriors of /morig/ train tirelessly, whether for defense of their homeland or heated competition with one another, though all skeletons have the same end goal in mind: to ascend to that shrine on the mountaintop and win the goddess’ favor, at the cost off all others who tried and failed along the way.

This begs the question, how old is this new world? The lore says people in vtland were exiled there from jpland, so how long ago would that have been? Additionally, would threads/nations that were made at the start of the board's life, like morig I'm assuming, be of similar age? Would the followers of older deities carry additional memories and experiences from followers of newer ones, even if they mostly took place in jpland? Keep in mind that there are deities that have "existed" and have been worshiped 3 times as long as this new world has.

That doesn't apply to /∞/ since economically they're still extreme strong churning out art and fan fics while various groups travel to the split.
The issue is tribalization between the various factions.

Here's my attempt at borders for the Nijisanji continent, and no more /meat/ near /morig/ as requested.

Also, I hope that we can get flags eventually for all the nations so that I can eventually replace the colors with the flag for each nation.

Naturally, after all, Watermelons were domesticated in Egypt as a way to store water, and so Watamelon would also be in a desert climate where water is precious.
Watamelon are a bit more mysterious though, as I'm not sure whether they're a fruit or livestock, but regardless their entire way of life would be dependent on Watamelon.

I guess I'll use this one once I do all the flags, but until then you guys will have plenty of time to make a new one if you don't want that to be the official one.

I changed it so that they have that sizable grey nation to the left of nasfaqg for several reasons. First of all, the location didn't make much sense with it being on the Nijisanji and Hololive continent. Second of all, it was wayyyyyyy too small given how active their threads are. Size is important given that we need to actually fill up the map, and for the sake of visibility.
With the new location, they still control an important strait, and have much more flexibility with what kind of nation they can be rather than being relegated to being a vastly inferior version of nasfaqg.

hey, /meat/fag here, why did we have a colony on /morig/ island in the first place? we thought we had enough land before, and besides >>18252856 i don't know how many deadbeats are interested in /meat/. either way, the lower class pillage like vikings, and the higher class set up cults in key regions, neither would need to set up a colony, especially in an island in their "hunting" regions.

I just assumed that they would need small bits of territory for bases for them to resupply, sleep, and whatever else for their raiding cycle.
I guess they don't really need to have bases to resupply for food at least when they're getting their main food supply from their raids.

>come back to thread after a while

>Watame and Marine
>that close to neutral territory and Nijiland
What's up with those?

Also, Should VSPO, be placed neutral or JP indie? You can even make the case for both given that it is the local FPS thread and it does seem to have some proximity with HoloNiji threads as well as neutral threads like /#/ who talk about them fairly often.

>>18186781
>>18201238
The so-called "indie" isn't just indie. It also includes small corpos as per the original ideas or even the map wars.

>> No.18272607

>>18271180
For the Watame placement, it was originally just Watamelon, which I put there specifically because it was a desert region since they were going with an arabic theme, and because Watermelons were first domesticated in Egypt. Then another anon suggested that Watame and Watamelon should be part of the same nation, with Watamelon being a subset of it.
For Marine I was going for a pirate nation theme, and so I put /ahoy/ in a position where they would have a strategic strait where they could raid traders passing through.
It is pretty weird I'll admit, I might just end up redoing a bunch of stuff on the Hololive continent since it will be the most complex to deal with. Now that I think about it, Watame will be covered by the Bakatare general anyway, so there isn't really a need for her to have a separate nation that's part of Watamelon.
>Also, Should VSPO, be placed neutral or JP indie?
For now I'll put them in neutral since the thread is technically FPS focused, and because I don't want to have to redo the Indie continent.

feels like /morig/ should be bit larger in scope, iirc they had about the same posting output as /ggg/ with half the populace
so low population density but fairly large territory/resource base

>> No.18274792

>>18273672
I agree, but the question is whether they would be fine with that. I'll probably give them some territory on the mainland in addition to their island and see if they're fine with that.
It's even worse with /wah/ though, with them basically being a micro island when they're a fairly sizable general and as such should have a decent amount of territory.

>> No.18275042

>>18274792
I'm a /morig/ poster and it feels reasonable that we'd be smaller than /ggg/. To me, posting activity would correlate more to economy/industry than territory.

>> No.18276265

>>18275042
Yeah, but not that much smaller. Whether we go by average IP count or posting activity it doesn't make much sense for the /morig/ territory to be 1/5th the size of /ggg/.
I won't try to force you guys off the island though, from these threads I can tell that people are really obsessed with islands for some reason.

Yeah, if you've been in worldbuilding a while you'll know that the "cool isolated island nation" is the edgy OC donut steal of worldbuilding kek. Mori is a fucking chuuni dork, so I guess it kinda fits here. But yeah, do what you feel is right. For me /ggg/ being disproportionately big just works, since Gura is the big big big number chuuba par excellence, even if the thread doesn't quite measure up quantitatively.

>Islands are a great source of sea food
True
>offer natural protection from land invaders.
Y-yeah, in this world where over 90% of the nations have naval access I'm sure that would "protect" them.
>>18276933
Kek, that makes sense. I kind of thought mountain nations like Switzerland would be the edgy OCs of worldbuilding, since they're actually well protected unlike islands.
Regardless I'll generally prioritize what pisses off the fewest people since I don't want these threads to die.

Ships are expensive. As long as you have a fleet of your own with enough man power that should deter all but the scrappiest of sea dogs from fighting. I just realized that all of morig's ships are run by "skeleton crews".
