It's not ruined. You're not giving a reward to someone who bet on both heads and tails, since that person is receiving nothing.
Think about it - let's say that there's a heads or tails bet, and there's 9 million betted on heads and 4 million betted on tails so far. You bet on both with 1 million.
Now, if heads win, you would take 10% of the pot, so 1.5 million. If tails win, you'd take 20% of the pot, so 3.0 million.
However, you paid 2 million to bet. If heads win, you will lose 0.5 million, and if tails win, you'll effectively win 1 million.

Now, let's say that you just bet on tails, 0.5 million. If heads win, you lose that 0.5 million... but if tails win, then you get 1/9th of the pot, so 1 million. Huh, those are some familiar numbers, aren't they?

This means that if you're able to roughly assess the chance of an event and see the ratio of other bets, you can bet on the undervalued option seeing a chance to profit. Betting isn't ruined, you simply don't understand what you're doing.

The point is being able to bet at everything gives you a guarantee of winning and being able to refund the money you spent, which a one time gambling shouldn't give you.
My main point about this is it's gambling, you should just be able to win all or lose all, not some kind of coward or amateur that will bet all the same amount at the spinning roulette hoping and praying that it nets you more than what you already had. In our betting, it's a lot easier to rig it just by simply looking at the pot and how few have bet on the opposite side on a 1-1 or 2 options. I don't need to do or to look at the math to prove how broken or how useless betting is, if what I'm here is for the essence of gambling.

I cannot grugpost sadly, the art of grug eludes me, so I'll explain it as simply as possible.
Basically, all the bets from all options are summed up into a single pool. When an option wins, people who bet on that option win the share of the total pool based on their % contribution to it.
Example:
Let's say there's a bet that can be a 1 or 0.
Mr. A bet 4 million on 1. Mr. B bet 2 million on 1 and 2 million on 0. Mr. C bet 2 million on 0.
So, all in all, the total pool is 10 million.
Option 1 has Mr. A and B betting 4 million and 2 million respectively, for the total of 6 million.
Option 0 has Mr. B and C betting 2 million both, for the total of 4 million.
Thus, if 1 was going to win, then A would win 4/6 * 10 = 6.67m, and B would win 2/6 * 10 = 3.33m.
If 0 won, then B would win 2/4 * 10 = 5m, and A would win 2/4 * 10 = 5m.
Let's say 0 won. Then, the standings are as follows:
A lost 4 million.
B won 5 million, but his bets on 1 and 0 cost him 4 million total, so in the end his profit is just 1 million.
C won 5 million, and his bet on 0 cost him 2 million, so his total profit is 3 million.
As you can see, in the end, everything sums up to zero: Effectively A paid 3 million to C, and 1 million to B.
