If her announcement isn't that she's taking a long break after V-carnival like Miko did or dropping her character voice to save her throat, there's a reasonable possibility that it might be that she's going to be joining a different agency by the latter half of the year. Hololive's contract specifies streaming three times per week for at least 1 year; assuming it is an annual renewal sort of deal, then she may have decided against renewing it for another year because she got a better deal from somewhere else.
Points that would seem to support this:

I mean character voice is extremely important especially to a vtuber, so I can see how she could have thought it is the end of the world. Plus I think she'd like to have a higher, soprano, voice anyway. But for me personally this is a downright happy announcement, since I find her character voice even slightly annoying, although I've gotten used to it. I legitimately feel privileged to finally hear her natural voice. It's a huge improvement. Also, I can see why the Gorilla said that the sisters sound similar. Although, Sui-chan is a mezzo-soprano and Anemachi is a contralto, their voices are close enough (listen to the very first sentence of her recent stream from around 2:20~something) that they could probably convincingly imitate each other if the conversation didn't drag on too long.

However, the guy who did that appears to have decided she was too generic for his tastes and stopped following her, given someone showed up to wonder at people shilling her at a later point. It's not only until the INNK days that she found a following here, Project Winter being the big one.

In a bit of reminder from today, anons in their eternal pessimism seem to have been convinced that when Suisei teased with a big and a small announcement at the end of 2019, the big one must be graduation after all the mismanagement from INNK. Even after she transferred to Hololive and got upgraded Live2D, they were having doubts, since somehow it didn't seem that big of a change for them.

...But goddamn, my eternal pessimism actually tied my stomach into knots so much so I can physically feel my muscles relaxing now. It's really quite embarrassing how much I cared. I blame only finding her six or so months ago, so the initial enthrallment hasn't really gone away yet.

Was 5k subs after around a year of irregular activity that bad considering she was some random girl with no support back then?
