I prefer Vtubers with lore, and with a bit of chuunibyou to it. I don't like too many real-life stories, or when they describe something about their real-life appearance that doesn't match their model (i.e. if they were prescription glasses IRL while their model doesn't).

Now that I think about it, I don't really like the idea of getting too close to Vtubers in general. Having one that I can point to and say "yeah, they're my fav" I want, yeah, but I find myself skipping zatsudans often, and the only stuff I really watch is either karaoke, or them playing interesting non-APEX games. An EN girl that played a lot of CoD would be perfect, actually, especially if they mald a lot.

I suppose your issue is you haven't recognized any of the vtubers as a 'real' entity yet. They're just kind of detached objects in your mind. You find one that has a dream or goals and root for them and celebrate their milestones. Then watchalongs and zatsudans become e super comfy.
Also avoid dox, some of the magic is lost when you peer behind the veil.
