There are people like me who legitimately prefer watching hololive, in my case because I got tired of the indie streamer scene.

Don't know too much about veibae but there are too many people who call themselves "content creators" who don't really produce any special content and yet can't take criticism and feel entitled to people's attention and money. Also seen quite a lot of times where they just go unprofessional and shit on a specific person / group and treat stream as their vent box, it's not pleasant to watch at all.

Also seen many who claim that expecting something out of them (e.g. entertainment) is objectification/dehumanization of the "content creator" and that we should accept them for who they are.

Sorry, but I want to watch streams to de-stress, not to get more mired by the streamer's dramas, rants, and additional stress. Hololive provides that while many many streamers I watched previously did not.

There's a huge amount of western vtubers that aren't even obscure that're basically the same thing as what you expect Japanese vtubers to be. Like forget hidden gems, you can find tons of 100+ viewer streamers who make music and shit.

The Western side of this board is a total circle jerk that's totally arbitrary. Half of the vtubers who get shilled around here are backlog streamers with no talents, and the other half are solid but don't offer anything over the average successful streamer except that their fans don't respect rule 11.
