This specific anituber hate is not new, it's just simmered under the surface for a long time. People tend not to like people that call things they like trash (connor, joey).
Consider pic related. I watched that stream and was surprised when other deadbeats broke out of the "no criticism ever!!!" stranglehold and actually voiced their honest thoughts. She didn't handle that well at all either, or, rather, she didn't do anything to deal with it except a typically passive-aggressive non-apology. It was then that the first seeds of distrust and dislike began to fester within me, having up to then been rather fond of her enough to join her memba and buy her merch despite not particularly like rap. I didn't cancel, and soon it was more or less buried by other shit going on, but it was not forgotten, remaining a nagging splinter in the mind.
