I've never seen all of these in one package before, and that's just scratching the surface. She's based and explicit about all of these things, she's a legitimately talented streamer in her own right, good at ASMR, increasingly streams a large amount of hours, and puts in lots of time and money off-screen. There's no way someone like her won't end up with a big following on /vt/ eventually, she just checks too many boxes.

It's not really about the haters, mean, or drama posters, we had a lot of those visit Lily threads back in the day, and we dealt with them just fine doing exactly what one of you said.
I just think the different audiences here might not be very compatible, only brought together by a couple very minor aspects in common that don't really define them as a whole. Not trying bash anyone, I don't think any of the other girls or their respective communities are inferior or anything, just that they're incompatible and having them under the same thread creates one that's lesser than the sum of its parts.
I've also been thinking a lot about whether we've just outgrown the threads. I enjoyed threads as a place to lewdpost where none of us would ever do that in any of the other community hubs—and I might be just projecting here–but the main and major appeal was having a place to interact with other bros without having to deal with the autism and social anxiety that existed as barriers to the other hubs. However in past threads we've helped and encouraged each other to overcome those, and I've seen it work in myself and others, so I'm wondering if we just don't really need them anymore and that's why the threads so quickly fell from back to back bump limit hits to ghost towns.

Since I already have servers I can use, I think I'll give hosting Lilychan a try and see how that goes, though.

If these threads really do die you could always go to /uoh/. I remember way back in the day when there used to be Mocca threads there was someone always trying to stir up trouble and when the bickering would stop suddenly "someone else" would appear to say that Mocca threads need to be discontinued for Mocca's mental health or something. Now obviously not everyone who has voiced concerns has negative intentions (certainly not the nice lilycon), but after that whole fiasco I'm not letting myself get convinced out of supporting threads I like by people who may be the people stirring the drama in the first place. I will try and keep these threads alive until no one else is around to help me because I've seen the cool things that have come out of the Kana and Lily threads (art, stories, Lily even had someone from the thread write and perform as song for her that made her incredibly happy). Ironically that same attachment is what made me make those downer posts. I don't even lurk 4chan anymore, but I've kept a pinned tab of the catalogue with 'lily' in the search bar all these months, occasionally refreshing it with faint hope that a thread will show up. I was ecstatic to finally see one today, and after reading it and seeing it was nothing like what I'd hyped myself for it to be brought me seriously down. I often have issues like that with managing expectations and becoming overly negative once they aren't met.
Speaking of expectations, I'll probably just host an existing open source imageboard, nothing custom. My last (current) love project for Lily has me pretty drained and made me realize I'm a lot worse at design and webdev than I thought. I think she’s likely felt stagnated for a while. Shadow also seems to really want new costumes too, her mama recently made a tweet saying she was booked up and children would need to ask for costumes months in advance, Shadow responded by saying she should consider raising her prices and apologised for wanting many costumes. Artists are incredibly booked up and these girls that vtube fulltime want new outfits to keep things fresh. I imagine this applies especially to the ones prone to commissioning art, this is just an extension of that. Kana really wanted a new costume for a while so I hope the new model can rejuvenate her a bit!

Shondo news: Shadow says her second outfit is currently being drawn, and she's struggling to keep it secret. She says it won't be rigged for five months, but the outfit is basically two costumes in one and her third outfit won't take as long.
