Mario Kart is a 12player max game. If the racing was set up for 1v1 racing duels and Calli did not give a shit, it would be a problem. But there were 11player groups. Having 1 disinterested player does not make a difference. Plus, she was not in the least bit in the way of those actually competing for the top.

Besides, nothing in the rules required every participant to take the competition seriously as if life depended on it.

You see her name in the credits of many things. No one who is familiar with her work in or out of Hololive can dispute her insane work ethic or incredible skills.

But I believe the "Mori doesn't care" meme comes from elsewhere. She takes Hololive seriously as a job, but it seems like she doesn't put the same amount of emotional energy into it that many others do. In effect, she doesn't seem interested in cultivating proper parasocial relationships or even an illusion of genuine closeness with other Holos. She puts her time and effort into her music and art, but not her streamer personality. And since the fans, especially the serious ones, care the most about that parasocial element, her antis adopted the mantra of "Mori doesn't care" to prick at this aspect of her style deliberately.
