Based from the last stream, The Journey EP will probably determine whether or not we will get a new EP after 6 months. She's doing better promoting the song and I know that it ranked #1 in Ototoy and Mora. Itunes though only has the song hitting #1 in TW and Hong Kong. I also learned that her merch was probably a joint thing with management. It doesn't seem she had an input into her own merch as well. She had a comment about wondering where she can even buy a cassette/vinyl player. This probably means that management is dipping into the profit of her merch as well to fund her Music. I don't know about SCs though but for sure all streaming platform profits will also be redirected to her music projects. Maybe she will get a cut. I hope so.

Nameless Sadness hits home, Sink Again Rise Again hits home, Flower of Hope has a very satisfying piano arrangement i wish for a UtaNashi ver.

My main problem in trying to like IRyS' works even before hololive is that they sound like anisongs or the popular J-rock which sounds soulless.

The thing is celebration merch has always been a personal decision by Hololive talents, The only person I am not aware of is Azki who is incidentally is also the other Vsinger. Sure Cover would release merch attached to songs like they did with Umisea or Dawn Blue but you know in the outset that they are funded by Cover and that profits from that are just their way of getting back their investment. BUT celebration merch has always been a separate thing where the talents MOSTLY gets the bulk of the profit. Lamy even explained that the talents themselves can foot the some of the initial cost so that they can get a bigger cut of the pie. Irys not getting that option feels wrong to me. I don't think you'll find anyone disagreeing. It's a very solid EP. Arrangement of every song is very nice and EP does have a theme and story, songs nicely flow into each other. I still have an issue with awkward sounding lyrics but it can't be helped. She can say anything and it will still sound sweet and lovely, but when she sings it turns divine.
