It's the "first stall", "second stall" that people used to comment on events. The programming seems pretty basic

1) Do a "spam viewer check" when the stream starts, release the viewers in the stream as they're checked
2) Do a "spam viewer check" at set points of the stream, likely determined by the past performance of the stream.

That means if a stream is growing at a higher rate than the algorithm determines as "natural" it does a "spam viewer check".

It's not a fucking bug, it is likely by design that it works that way. The effect of culling a real viewer may be unintended but the behaviour is exactly what was programmed, it is not a bug in the programming.

I also have done a lot of research and found out that there is no ccv cull at all. It's just Holo has been using bots this whole time. In reality their average ccv is 5 times lower than Niji's average ccv. When youtube finishes with their bot culling (it's only starting), all holos will become 2views-3views - their actual numbers.

i've reached a new low and resorted to ratios... or worse, ratio charting.
i have other thoughts on creating estimated "realistic" average ccv from live chat data but not desperate enough to setup the capture, db, and code it.
for now, here's a sample of unique chatters/average ccv. these are all from solo streams excluding events, announcements, shill, or guerilla collabs. what i was trying to capture is the individual holo audience. Originally picked Gura, Ina, Subaru, and Peko because they seem to share less among themself. I added Miko and IRyS for comparison because Miko share the largest audience with Peko and IRyS share the largest audience with Gura.
things that stick out, IRyS seems to be doubly fucked by susan or have a lot of viewer churn. the churn might be from the times she overlaps gura. ina hasn't done a solo stream since the new year relay so no idea what her latest ratio will be. she doesn't seem to be affected by the christmas cull. Gura's GTA V stream from today may have more casual viewers that haven't been flagged yet as compared to yesterday's DbD.

If you're the streamer, they will just reply "nothing is wrong with your channel, the viewers are all spam"
If you're a viewer, you have no way of knowing for sure whether you're flagged, and if you are they can just wave it off with "to protect the platform from spam our methods have to be kept secret"
