Youtube made some changes in december apparently, something is going on with hololive streaming numbers

>> No.15790952

>>15790694
It's platform-wide, which suggests that whichever dev was working on the live view count algorithm fucked up the logic in their code and when it was pushed to the AI, CCV got fucked up.

The live viewer counts had strange behavior before. They would spike up and down randomly and create this wavelike pattern on all streams. You would see it oscillate up and down at regular intervals. There's clearly something fuckery gong on there.

Software on the scale on Youtube would never introduce bugs that serious because they have several testing environments to filter any error from shipping to production, and even if that were the case and a bug slipped into production, it would have been acknowledged and fixed by now.

its a feature, the decline in numbers is because YT starts flagging vtuber viewers as bot. and since most of them only watch vtuber content for hours and not much anything else, they might as well be. the ccv is used for the normie YT user to indicate what might be interesting to them, and content watched by vtuber viewers is not one of them.

youtube is a giant pile of shit. It's been riddled with persistant bugs and issues that go unsolved for years on end. In fact there have been several big movements by youtube creators rebelling against the horrible policies of youtube that wantonly censors videos, deletes accounts, censors comments, drops subs, randomly fucks people in the algorithm. Youtube's code is like you took a bunch of monkeys and put them in the room and asked them to type the code.

As someone currently working on a project with dev, test, staging, and production instances, I can say that this is bullshit.
Bugs still happen. People are lazy shits. Especially testers.
