Vtubing is an entertainment service, you give views or optionally donate money to the streamers to keep it going.
If your favorite streamer graduates, find another one. I wouldn't ever want to be a big part of their lives or something, it would probably ruin the experience. The distance is great, you get the entertainment, feel good and can enjoy the "damn I wish I could fuck her" illusion sometimes.
